When we visited the Fort last time, we saw an RV with the giant castle underneath and the car which was parked be the trailer had Florida Tag "number" WALT DISNEY - I wonder if anyone knows the person and if there is a story to it.
That is crazy!IIRC the lady's name is Hilda or Helga (something like that).
SinceDay1 is correct - they have literally been there for years and I believe they have to play the rate/reservation game just like we all do.

Agree with all but this...
Unless you are referring strictly to the Fort eateries...in which case I agree.
But I would still do it if I could. Very nice lady, met her in 2012 during our trip. Not sure if it is a couple, I just met the one. My then 1 y/o was trying to climb all into the decorations.
Napria said:Yes, Hilda's husband lives with her there. I believe Hilda said his health isn't the best, last I talked to her. They started with a motor home that had a custom painting on the back of the backs of Mickey and Minnie sitting on a park bench, looking at a beautiful sunset. When I talked to her on our last trip she said they were selling it to buy a fifthwheel so they would have more room. I'm glad to see she got it!

I knew that,, just attempting to convince myself that to do the same thing would make a whole lot of sense.

You could try it - run the numbers and let us know!
A premium site for the year will run $50 to 55K for the year - maybe less if you get some AAA discounts.
Rent out your home for the year - rental amount times 12 months - add in your utilities and cable, etc and see how close you come.
(I would have to stay in a tent!!!)
