What is the restaurant EVERYBODY raves about?.... except you.

Olive Garden - there's a zillion awesome Italian Restaurants in this area. Why eat over priced over cooked pasta here?

Red Lobster - I don't see the attraction of a chain restaurant sea food when there's so many great mom & pop seafood places

Applebees - No matter which one I go to, the food is always burnt.

Ruby Tuesday- got so sick after eating there and won't do that again.

Outback Steakhouse........last time we were there they gave a complimentary certificate to come back.......won't use it, refuse to be subjected to that again, even for free!!!!

Ruby Tuesdays, hands down.

They are all over down here, seems like there is one on every corner. We have two that are basically right across the street from each other! I just don't think the place has good food OR service at all.

I gotta say, most of the places mentioned here; Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Carraba's, Outback, etc. are BIG hits in most places. There has to be some reason they manage to draw huge crowds and stay in business.

Well, I used to be Ok with chain restaurants and thought the Cheesecake Factory was the height of fine dining until I moved to NYC and married food aficionado DH. Never have been the same since!

(That's not to say we would never eat at a chain place, and I still do enjoy the Cheesecake Factory on occasion, but they are not places I would ever rave about.)

Those chain places we all hate DO have huge crowds, they must be pleasing someone.

For me I only order the same thing when I go to Olive Garden and Red Lobster. I'm always pleased with my food. Anytime I vary, I'm always disappointed. Olive Garden has a chicken scampi dish that has tons of garlic and is really good. I've been to mom and pop Italian places that seem afraid to use garlic. Red Lobster gets me with those evil little cheddar biscuits and the shrimp scampi.

Outback is overpriced and I hate anyplace that doesn't include a salad with the entree.

Here's a website...you can peruse the menu and see if it's something you might be interested in....DH and I had the tuna appetizer and the make-your-own-pizza the other week and spent $21.00 for a pretty good meal! I'd definitely go back.

I'll bring this back to WDW: Artist Point and Le Cellier. I think both are just OK and probably not worth the price. I *might* go back to Le Cellier for the soup alone. There is nothing that will make be return to AP, even the free meals with my room in August.

I love the French Dip sandwich at Le Cellier, which I think is only served at lunch. That and a bowl of cheese soup is my very favorite meal in all of WDW. I thought the steak at Le Cellier was just so so, but I have pretty high standards.

I've always had a good meal and great service at the Olive Garden here. My husband likes it and he's half Sicilian! Granted, it's not as good as what his mother and grandmother made, but it'll do in a pinch.

I love, love, love Olive Garden's salad dressing! I noticed a bottle of it for sale on the way out the last time we ate there. Wish I had bought it! Guess I'll just have to go back!

My neice and nephew love Red Robin, on the outskirts of the DC area. It's always crowded, noisy, and we get squished in next to people all of the time! It's definitely a "kid" place!

Everyone seems to love Ohana's but me and my family! We are NOT picky by did not like Ohana's at all. Everyone seems to rave about this restaurant, I think all the food had a weird taste to it!!!

People have no taste ?

Seriously , humans are people of habits and they like the familliarity. They want to taste the same thing anywhere they go. it is very difficult to change that.

Those chains offer familiarity and no surprise : you will always be received at the door by an hostess who will tell you the same sentence that you hear anywhere else , your food will be same over proceessed stuff that taste the same all over the continent ( those commercials for Olive Garden that sjhow a nice cooper pan where vegetale or chicken is being tossed is an illusion ! It more likekly that everything arrive in vacuum pack all ready to be eaten !).

maybe you have seen the TV show " Jamie's dinner" where celebrety chef Jamie Oliver tries to change the way of eating in public schools in Enland: All fast food and pre=prepared food was banned from the cafeteria: No buger pizza pops etc. Only freshly cooked food ( And it was done with the same budget as before with the premade food)

You should see how the kid reacted to the new food ! It took Six month before the change was considered complete and a succes...
