What Is The Reason Pop Isn't Finished Yet?

i just got back from pop century and i really liked it. i was in 3409 facing the pool ,4th floor,50's bld. loved it and got 5 towel animals. anyways what is the story behind the unfinished portion of pop century? are they going to finish it ? i know you are not allowed but has anyone had the urge to go walk over there and explore? oh yeah it wasn't noising even facing the pool but we did have our little fan so that drowned it out.

Construction of the current portion of Pop was delayed about a year due to very low bookings during 2001-2002.

Although the Classic Years has been a great success since it opened, Disney is probably delaying construction of the Golden Years until booking have been steadily higher for a while longer. After all, no sense spending $30 million to build a new resort if the ones you already have are not even filling up.

Disney has been diverting more money into construction of new DVC properties for the last few years, since they sell out almost as quick as they are built.

As I understand it, POP classic section was originally scheduled to open early 2002, and legendary years early 2003. In the post-9/11 mess, the number of travellers dropped signifigantly, and construction was delayed. Classic years eventually opened 1 1/2 years after scheduled opening, in December of 2003. Nothing has been done with the legendary years obviously.

Its depressing for me to see the legendary years just sitting waiting.
