What is the procedure like at the Car Care Center at WDW when picking up a rental?

I have rented cars at MCO several times from several companies. This time we are using Magical Express to get to WDW and then going to the Car Care Center to get our Alamo rental. I found out that the airport concession charge doesn't apply there and they will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the CCC. Has anyone picked up their rental from there? How busy is it? I scored a mid size SUV for $122 total for a week starting 8/31. Do they hand you the keys or do you take what you want in your car category from the lot like they do at the airport? Thanks for the help.

Can't answer the "busy" question - just depends on how many people are there ahead of you in line, LOL.

They hand you the keys - you get what they assign to you. There might be a separate line for Quicksilver members, can't remember for sure.

IMHO, you got a very good price, especially if the $122 includes taxes and fees. Congratulations!

I am doing the same thing.....ME and picking up the car at the CCC. When I changed my ressie, it was lowered by $100.00. Same amount of time, the only difference was the pick up location.

A few questions- Is Alamo the only car agency at the Car Care Center? Also, is it the rental agency who picks you up at your hotel? Any other rental agencies at the Swan or Dolphin?

Alamo and National are
both at the Car Care Center. They are also both at the Dolphin resort. They are the only care rental agencies on WDW property. I'm not counting the Downtown Disney Hotels - there are other car rental agencies that have desks in those hotels.

The courtesy shuttle picks up either Alamo or National customers.

sweetpea... what else would you like to know? rental car co's are national and alamo... procedure at CCC or Dolphin is very simple... picked up in a rental car company van... usually quite quick (took dh less than half hour from pick up to returning to resort)... drop-off is even easier (we always drop at the dolphin, just leave the car w/valet)... they select the car for you (or at least they did for dh) but i am sure if you had a real problem with it (smelled like smoke or something) they would attempt to find another in your car class... any other questions?

Another question about the courtesy shuttle -- we will be renting a car at the airport and going to Daytona for 4 days. We will then return it to the WDW car care center (we will be spending the next 4 days at Pop and won't be needing the car). Will the shuttle drive us from the car care center to Pop or is the shuttle only for taking people from their resort to the car?

the shuttle will most assuredly take you back to your resort... what i suggest if you have two adults is to drop off one adult/children at the resort and then have the other take care of the car... the other thing we do is drop it at the dolphin and take wdw transport to your next destination (if it's a theme park)...

remember, the only cars available for pick up and drop off on wdw property are NATIONAL and ALAMO!
