Is it 6.5% ??? I am going to sit here and firgure out DDP vs. OOP for where/what we would eat in July. Thanks

Thanks. So if you are on the DDP and you your party is big the gratuity is already included. Is that taxed too? Thanks

Gratuity is never included on the DDP with the exception of CRT and a few other package places.

In regards to DDP, tax is included in the costs.

I don't think the PP understood your question.

If you have a party of 6 or more, an 18% gratuity will be added based on the cost of your food. The gratuity is not taxed.

I'm using even numbers for simplicity, assuming a party of 6:

If Food/Drink Cost is $100.00.

The tax will be $6.50 (6.5% based on $100 bill)

The gratuity will be $18.00 (18% based on $100 bill)

Total bill is $124.50.

A lot of people (including myself) will usually tip on the total bill that includes tax (which in this case would be $106.50 before gratuity), however WDW doesn't base the 18% gratuity on the total with tax included, only the actual food/drink totals.

Hope that answers your question.

THANKS SO MUCH. Yes this was what I was looking for. :thumbsup2 We also tip after tax is added too. I just didn't know how it was done when THEY include the 18%. I know if you are a smaller party most would tip off of the total dinner price including tax like most of us do at home. IF we went out to dinner at home and the bill came to 106.50 with tax.... we would tip based on that total and not 100 bucks.
