What is the oldest copy of a newspaper/magazine you have in your home?

I have one my grandmother saved from 1963 and the death of John F Kennedy. The next oldest would be ones from Sept 11, 2021.

1963 - We have a huge newspaper insert of JFK that the previous owners of our house mounted on cardboard and sealed in plastic. We found it in the basement when we moved in.

I just found yesterday an article on my Grandfather make birdhouses in his small town newspaper. Not sure what year it was, but guessing the 1950's. And my mom kept all the news magazines from 1963 from the Kennedy assassination, but I honestly don't remember if we kept them or sold them when she passed away. So many people kept those that they really have no value.

A few newspapers from 1993 when the janitor burnt our high school down..

A copy of the Ladies Home Journal from 1941. I collected old womens' magazines for years and have several. They're in storage in the basement cedar closet right now.

of a non historical nature, just b/c i like tabloids and other quirky publications-if you were to look for reading material in either of our bathrooms you would find some weekly world news issues dating back to the early 90's along with a couple of old people magazines-one of which is talking about all the buzz the new movie star wars is getting:thumbsup2

The newspapers and Time and Newsweek magazines from the day and week after 9/11

Funny you should ask as I sit here sorting. I am of my grandmother & father ~ treasure holder! I think 1941 and there are several.

DS is history teacher so I’m moving them in to newspaper binders for him. And there are plenty more along the years.

I have a copy of a newspaper from December 8, 1941, when we declared war on Japan.

Date: November 22, 1963
Ooops. Thanks. I should know better. Was in a work conference room while it happened and everyone crying so hard…including all the executives…that we had to all go home.

Then same exact scenario in a different conference room at a different company for 9/11 but this time watching 2nd tower go down.
Both horrendous memories.

Probably around 95 or 96. I worked as a reporter/assistant editor at that time; and, I've kept a few things I wrote, just for memories.

I have my father’s copy of the newspaper from May 1945, VE Day.

Magazines it’s LIFE December 1969 with Charles Manson on the cover.
