What is the new Soarin' ride like?

Sort of. It's sort of a simulator I guess. You sit in seats that are made to seem like a hang glider. The seats then lift up and move toward a huge movie type screen where there are incredible images from flying over California. Your seats will move a little bit along with the images, to make it seem realistic. It's an absolutely incredible ride. Even my mom, who can't handle most simulators absolutely loved Soarin

They have it at Disneyland...really enjoyed it there - evey if you don't like heights - it's not that far off the ground....they even used 'smell' as part of the ride...can't wait until we try it a WDW!!! :cheer2:

The ride is great. You'll want to go on it again and again.

Enjoy.

It is peaceful and beautiful. The lady next to me described it as 'heavenly' and I think that sums it up.

After riding this a few times last week, Soarin has now become my favorite WDW ride! It is very peaceful. Just a warning though, my husband and son are both afraid of heights and they did have a little bit of a problem with this ride. They love the roller coasters and they can have those, I will ride Soarin!

Thanks for the comments....sounds really fun. Can't wait to try it when I go back!!! :cool1:

Should a person with a bad back avoid Soaring? Thanks.
It's an extremely smooth ride. My mom and stepdad have back issues with many rides but had no problems with this one. I've also had issues after extremely jerky rides (Back to the Future in Universal comes to mind), and had no problems at all. Soarin is smoother than flying on an airplane. I do not remember if there were warnings regarding bad backs, but I do know that it was very smooth.

What about for pregnant women?? Is this ride safe?

I was on it 6 times last week. Perfectly okay for everyone except ppl afraid of hieghts. It is so awesome one note of caution try real hard to get the first row it is the best you dont see the ppl's feet infront of you .
But the smells and how gentle the movement it is my Favourite ride !

It is in the land building on the bottom floor.
Have fun !

I went on it last Wednesday. It was ok but overrated. I dont think anyone knew it was open as I rode it about 10am after doing TT and MS and we walked on it without any line.

We sat in the middle row of seats and the legs of the riders in the top row were pretty visible which spoilt the illusion somewhat. It didnt offer any sort of thrill but I can see its apeal for older people, it is very smooth and relaxing.

To improve it I think they need fans blowing the wind in your face and maybe some more environment interaction. I liked the smell of oranges flying over the orange groves but a spray of water on your legs over the ocean or feeling your feel brushing the tops of trees or grass would be great to enhance the experience.
