I am planning my VR for 2010. So I have been scouring Planning threads and I came across sunsh1ne's. She wins in my book for the most creative theme. For her reception she is having it at the Boardwalk and having a boardwalk theme-complte with a photobooth, decorations like popcorn boxes, glass vases filled with candy popcorn cottoncandy......the list goes on and on. I just thought this was so creative and unique. So let me have it! Give me the most unique ideas you have ever seen (or ones you thought up yourself!

pretty-- i am almost crying to see my name used in a thread. thank you so much for the kind words. i am gald that you enjoyed the pj. i am excited for my wedding. thank you thank you. you made my day.

No problem. Your ideas are just so fresh and creative. I love it! Glad I could make you smile today!

Not quite as unique, but we did an afternoon tea reception based on tea at the Ritz in London. With tea sandwiches, scones, pastries, and English trifle - Mmmm! We also had white chocolate tea cup favors. :)

Now that's awesome too! Your teacup favors are beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Well, I have to say that I like the one that was in People Magazine. They had a halloween theme (not that original I know) on Halloween. The bride wore a white and black dress with fake blood on it (but only at the reception) with white contacts, and fangs. The groom was a vampire. They had pumkins and some other Halloween stuff for their decorations. They also got the gate for the entrance and put dead branches and dead flowers on it. The picture in the magazine is really cool.

I will have to look at Sunsh1ne's PJ. Her's sounds pretty cool too. Also a little more original, which is bonus points in my book. :thumbsup2

Holly I would totally do that! I love halloween. I told dh that for the VR I want Nightmare before christmas theme and want to wear a jet black dress. And have pumpkins everywhere. And cobwebs and ghosts.

Janet2k did a pretty cool themed VR inside the great movie ride, i think she had different table linens/decorations for each land!

If you find her trip report im sure it will have everything - she's great at posting loads of pics and providing really good detail!! :goodvibes

It's funny - sometimes you hear about something like the Halloween wedding or a pirate-themed wedding, and the press materials go on about how you can have any kind of wedding you can imagine, but DFTW really seems to steer you into the very traditional wedding format.

I'd love to hear more stories of unique and unusual WDW weddings! popcorn::

Actually you can ask to look at their event book...

they have pics of a full haunted mansion theme (very cool) it was in one of the ballrooms...my other favorite was a safari one in the adventures club...great pictures

I can't find you PJ. I'd love to read it! Can you post your PJ link? Thanks!

I saw a whole reception set up at the Great Movie Ride at MGM in the Western Scene... It was beautiful

ya know what would be cool...to see a fun bachelor/bachelorette party at pleasure island in the "roger rabbitt theme"...old hollywood kinda thing...that would be so much fun!!

man would it be cool to do a COMPLETELY themed party there...not just a wedding, but a party!!!

All great ideas girls. with Disney the sky really is the limit! I would love to have an MGM event but dang its expensive! :scared1:

I had a meeting with Joe DeMatei about having a unique reception and he presented me with these concepts:

reception at the adventurer's club at PI
at MGM:
dinner in the Narnia walkthrough
in a "Prop shop"
"Be my guest" at the beauty & the beast theater
