What is the most relaxing spot you have found in WDW?

The storm clouds were rolling in for its afternoon rain so my wife and I decided to leave the parks and head back to the hotel for awhile. We were staying at the Boardwalk Villas and upon our return we grabbed our books and headed to the back deck that looked over the boats and the boardwalk.

We spent time gently rocking in the rocking chairs while we read and had a great time talking to other families who were also spending time on the porch.

Well, our daughter called and asked what we were doing, so when we explained the situation she could not believe that we were not doing commando in the park, rain and all. But anyway this, in my humble opinion, has been the best relaxing moment for any of my Disney visits.

So now, where have you spent your best relaxing time while in the parks?

I like the lower patio in front of The Plaza restaurant at MK. After Wishes we always get an ice cream and sit on the patio and watch the lights change on the castle while the masses rush out to the busses. We usually stay for the Kiss Goodnight, then head up Main Street which is pretty much deserted by then.

On a big fluffy couch in the lobby of GF while the band plays on the upper balcony.

Of my 5 trips to the world, that evening was perhaps one of the best DH and I have ever had.

I always like the area on the back of the Boardwalk facing the lake UNDER where the rocking chairs and stuff is...I know its a smoking area but I almost never see people there...its nice because its cool, completely empty, and a great place to eat a pizza...

Actually I have a place that I like even better. Animal Kingdom Lodge is a mandatory relax place every time I head down. I usually hang around on the inside couches, then go to the bar, then spend a couple hours at Boma, then back to the couches, and spent some time outside maybe around the fire pit with the rocking chairs. Always a good time and many nice hours spent

I like to sit in the area at the top of the stairs at the south end of Main Street (where the train lets out) and people watch. With Main Street in the foreground and the castle in the background it's the prettiest place in the MK.

I'm all about this. The AKL Jambo lobby is so relaxing and peaceful; especially at night. I also love sitting by the fire pit at night as well.

Wow. Maybe I've been doing it all wrong.

Will have to seek out these areas of zen and peace next time.

I'm another one that finds AKL relaxing...the lobby, the bar, our balcony with a glass of wine.

I like to get off the monorail at the Poly and take the walkway from there, back around the luau area and over to the GF. There is a spot that you pass under the monorail and no one is ever there. I like to just sit there for a little bit, usually with a coffee from Kona, and watch the monorail go by. The track is hidden by the foliage and you hear it a second before it just appears and disapears.

I know it isn't a sit and relax spot really like the other ones but I love it.

My most relaxing spot is in front of the fireplace in the lobby of Wilderness Lodge Villas...used to be Iron Spike Room but can't think right now what it is called. To curl up on that couch with the background music (and even better yet when it is decorated for Christmas) is just incredible. What I would not give for an afternoon there right now.

that USED to be a nice place but it is now a smoking area but I can see how it would be enjoyable minus the smoke.

My absolute fav place is on a rocker at Crockett's Tavern at Fort Wilderness with a sweet tea! We sometimes do this for hours, just relaxing and people watching.

A couple of tips I picked up on my last trip to help us relax. So I consider these pretty good relaxing spots if you are at the MK for a full day.

1)
We were staying on property, but not at an MK resort. We wanted to plan a full day at the MK and stay to watch the fireworks at night. Didn't feel like going all the way back to the CSR resort.

So, mid-day, we left the MK and went to the Grand Floridian. My wife used the Spa there to shower and freshen up. It was $12, but totally worth it. She spent about 1 and 1/2 hr there.

While she was in the spa, we went to the main GF building and we sat by those TVs and the kids watched the cartoons and napped. 4 yo was wathcing TV and decompressing, 2 yo fell asleep on the little couch. By the time wife was completed, we were all recharged well enough to hang around for the fireworks.

2)
Found a great place in the Contemporary, I believe on the 2nd floor (in the convention area.) Near the escalators there are a bunch of great comfy couches and coffee tables. We all sat there and it was relatively quiet, again to help us decompress and have some snacks.

These rests were just enough to take the edge off.....

When I go back to WDW and plan a full day at the MK, we'll be sure to defenitely use the Spa again, just to decompress and freshen up.....

When you say relaxing in WDW I'll interprete it as meaning in the parks (just a way to narrow it down). In the animal kingdom at the Flametree BBQ eating area, preferrably at an off time. The little pool with the birds can be nice, you just have to ignore the birds begging for food and enjoy the birds swimming. Near the Odyssey in EPCOT is pretty dead and quiet. Lots of places in WS are relaxing if you get there when it opens. I think I could come up with more if I looked at a map. Then again my interpretation is probably way off.

I like the fact that you can sit, get out of the sun and feel a breeze moving down the track.

On one trip when we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, we went out on the balcony that looks out over the pool area out to the lake. We sat there with our mugs and just chit chatted until the Electrical Water Pageant came by. It was very relaxing!

Also, there's nothing like sitting on your balcony at the Animal Kingdom Lodge watching animals go by on the savannah--that's bliss to me!

aahhh the wedway. if i had to pick one IN a park, this is my choice also! i am so upset it will be closed for my june trip. i wish they'd have planned a rehab for space/tta starting in january so it would have been ready for the busy season and hot temps. hello disney, what WERE you thinking?
