This is the first time we will be bringing food to prepare in our room. We are taking the auto train so we will bring some stuff from home, but I want to stop to pick up some produce and perishables and would prefer to find a reasonably priced grocery store.

Problem is that we are Canadian and other than Walmart I am not familiar with the different chains.

When I say close, I would like to keep it within about 10 min of WDW property. Thanks

I think there is a Walmart pretty close by, did you go onto Walmart and look at store locator? We went to Walmart on one of our trips it seemed pretty close, but last time we just used strollers and groceries and had them delivered. There is also a grocery store near Downtown Disney, but they seemed very expensive in my opinion.

I have been to both and much prefer Publix, the perishables ARE much fresher and nicer.

I even gave away my WalMart gift cards because I will be going to Publix.

Is there a Target close by? I need a grocery store too but I always seem to forget some type of clothing item or something similar.

Does anyone know the closest Publix to Beach Club Villas? I have a grocery list that I'm ready to send to GG for our trip in a couple of weeks, but I'm convinced that I could probably save 1/3 of the cost of the bill if I just take a cab and spend 1/2 hour shopping.

I'd rather spend that extra money on my grandbaby!! :goodvibes

When we went the last two times we had things delivered to the hotel. It really was not that pricey and people do it all the time. If you are not there they will give it to the front desk and it will kept cold till you get back . It's great !

There is a Target just a mile or so from Black Lake. Produce was not as nice as Publix but a lot better than Walmart.

I'd agree with Publix as well. They have great produce, a good selection of natural/organic brands, and their prices were decent. Even if WM or Target is cheaper, I'd go with Publix.

Most definitely Walmart -- cheap and very close (Vineland Rd, Kissimmee -- just minutes from WDW).

Since you're taking the AT, that means you will disembark in Sanford (which is about 40 minutes across town from WDW) -- you'll see plenty of grocery stores on your way, there, but again, Walmart always seems to be the low price leader in the U.S.

Yes, there are two Super Targets within minutes of WDW (in addition to what they sell back home, they also have a full grocery store, making the store a supercenter) -- the one on Irlo Bronson Pkwy in Kissimmee is always easy to get in/out of...
