What is the most inappropriate time you have started laughing at?

I'm going to hell for this...but every time during the holidays my FIL gathers us together for prayer in a circle. We hold hands, bow our heads as he prays. The thing is , he starts a prayer and turns it into a story because he LOVES to hear himself talk. For example he might say, " I pray that my grandchildren stay safe...like the time....10 minutes later he's still on the story. My SIL will start squeezing my hand or stepping on my foot and I can feel her body racked with laughter she's holding in, then I start biting my lip from giggling. We are horrible people.

Apparently, my great grandfather insisted on a very solemn meal. My mom started giggling at the table, so he sent her to another room. Soon, mom's sister joined her, then the oldest sister, and finally my grandmother :)

Another church incident, about 40 years ago when I a teen and still attended church. During a Catholic Mass, after Communion, there was a time for quiet meditation while the organist played music. Just when the music ended and the priest was about to resume, a little girl a few rows away said "Mommy, my ----- (synonym for cat) itches." People in the area were cracking up, and no doubt we're all going to hell for it.
Sweet goodness I'm laughing so hard I'm crying :rotfl2:I love this story!!!

Omg, I am the queen of inappropriate laughing. Sometimes, I can't control myself. The worst was when I was in high school and was attending a speech & debate tournament. One of the participants was really awful and I just COULD NOT HOLD IT IN, it was so rude and mean since it was supposed to be a dramatic speech :( I felt guilty.

A great auntie's funeral. My Aunt Claire was my father's godmother. I honestly cannot even remember what started me off, I just remember it was a nervous laugh. Then, the more I tried to hold it in and the more scared I got, the more I laughed.

Two times in church, I almost wet my pants laughing so hard. And it wasn't necessarily really funny, it was more the fact that you're not supposed to crack up laughing during mass, and I just couldn't control myself. The first time, was that the church I was going to was going to be remodeled I think. They had to fix the ceiling right in the middle of the church. It was a big cupola and there was this crack up on the ceiling. There was this guy looking though a camera during the service. I don't know what the heck he was doing, or trying to take a photo of the ceiling or what, but he kept looking through the camera, over and over, shot after shot, like it was so super important, but the lens cap was on! I was getting giggly. The next think I knew, part of the ceiling, and plaster and dust started failing down on and around me. That was it. The whole thing was just absurd to me and I couldn't stop laughing, despite my dad's death stares. My father punched me in the arm. Pretty hard. He wasn't finding anything funny. The second time in church, the priest was giving his sermon, and he was all fired up and talking about some miracle, and he said, loudly and very dramatically, "And the deaf could see, and the blind could hear!" For me, it was funny enough that it was switched around, but even funnier, that I swear, no one else in the church seemed to catch it, except me, my dad and step mom.

At a coworker's funeral. Granted I didn't know him very well so I didn't have the typical grief going on which might have stopped it, but...

At the service, they had an older woman there playing the organ. And it wasn't a nice organ, it was one of those crappy things that I think I had in my basement in the 1970s. At some point she started playing a song and it was a popular song but it was SOOOO bad, that I just started quietly shuddering and trying to suppress a giggle. I made eye contact with one of my coworkers and she started, and then another started. I had to get up and leave and go into the restroom. My boss was furious with us.
