What is the most CONSISTENTLY amazing dining experience at Disney?

Flying Fish, the Wave, Kona breakfast, 50's Prime Time, Tutto Italia, Beirgarten, Fultons, WPE, San Angel Inn lunch...these are a few that we have been to many many times and have always had a wonderful meal and service.

V and A for ultimate experience.
FF for routine dining.

Best steak....my house:a 20 to 30 oz porterhouse cooked over charcoal and mesquite with only salt and pepper:yay:
Best character/fireworks view CRT

Sounds good to me! :thumbsup2 What time is dinner? We will gladly bring the beer! :lmao:

Our choices would be O'hana, Hoop De Doo and House of Blues for dinner. Kona for breakfast.

For us (family of 6 kids ranging in age from 4-15) it's California Grill and Tokyo Dining.
Never have had a bad experience at either one. And we walk out smiling!

For us it's Crystal Palace, however the quality of the offerings differ from visit to visit. In general there's always something that stands out as amazing, it's just frustrating when the item you loved the last time isn't 1/2 of what it was the time before. However we have yet to have a bad experience there after 6+ visits and the staff is always great.

For the locals in the area - Raglan Road seems to be a sure fire winner. Can't speak from experience as we haven't been there.

I'm reading a lot of the lists, & thinking, "I wish I could say the same for that restaurant." Now that I think about it, we've never had a bad meal @ HOB either.

Victoria and Albert's is on my list, too. But as it's mainly for adults, it's out of the norm of most Disney diners.

The only problem I have with "consistency" is that a chef that made a name for him or herself at a restaurant will often shuffle around to other restaurants.

Case in point, the chef at California Grill as of last spring came over from Jiko, and before that, Le Cellier. I noticed that whenever these places got tons of raves, Chef Brian was the executive chef there. The chef at Jiko prior to Brian got tons of raves, but Brian took over when she left. I'm hearing mixed things about the current Jiko chef, but I haven't been there since he took over to see if anything changed.

The chef at V&A has been the chef there forever, it seems. I know he was the chef when I made my first visit there in 1996.

For the most part, I have fairly decent meals everywhere. But I feel that there are quality issues, which may be a result of the food suppliers and not the chefs.

This is going to sound really bizarre, but my family has somewhat simple tastes. Our favorite place to eat in disney? The food court at POR. Their carved roast beef and mashed potatoes is excellent, and I dream about those apple blossoms with vanilla ice cream. Always good, and the grounds are so pretty to walk in the evening.

Glad to see someone vote for O'hana. We will be dining there for the first time on our next trip. Sounds really tasty and fun.

V&A's? I'll just have to take your word for it. Maybe one day ;)

Happy eating everyone!

I'm with you... I love food, but I have simple tastes. Truly, I think the best thing I've even at WDW was the pulled pork sandwich from Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom. That's just the kind of stuff I like.

As for an overall experience, my favorite part of my last trip was having Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian.

V&As.:)

But we also love, love.......Biergarten!!!;) So much fun and we have never had a bad meal since 1994.:rotfl:

I haven't heard this one yet, Biergarten. We have been there on each of our trips and their food, atmosphere, entertainment and service are consistantly great!

Chefs de France has been the most consistently good for us. We always enjoy our meals which usually surpass our expectations. The braised shortribs were awesome. I also tried the quiche, just for the heck of it, and it was tasty. The creme brulee is in my top five Disney desserts.

A recent disappointment was at Artist Point. Previous meals have been excellent, but this past visit, everything was slightly off...the soup was not hot enough, the entree seemed too small and tasted a bit off, my favorite dessert of all time...Coffee Two Ways...was no longer on the menu. We were underwhelmed. Our server apologized profusely for the menu changes (blaming it on ill-advised managers);

I have been to Disney several times and have read many dining reviews on this site. Trouble is that restaurants sometimes are amazing on one visit and not so good the next visit...what I am looking for from you Disney frequent visitors out there is this...which restaurant do you go to EVERY visit that always makes you SMILE...for the experience AND the food EVERY time you go??
:tink:

We Il Mulino's at the Swan, Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin and Jiko's at the AKL Jumbo House have always been top notch experiances.

Tutto Italia - have eaten here four times. It has been #1 on our list for two years running!

The Wave - have eatern here twice. It is #2 on our list.

We'll be making two reservations at both Tutto Italia and The Wave on our upcoming trip in August.

I know a few kids that would vote McDonalds in DTD. :rotfl2:

My choice for the best meal every trip has not yet been discovered. But I am finding the hunt for that elusive restaurant immensely satisfying. :cloud9:

LeCellier mushroom risotto filet right on target everytime!!! I want it right now!!

I would agree about the filet but the last couple of times we have eaten there we found the risotto way too salty. Still, the pretzel bread and maple creme brulet made up for it.

Boma has probably been our most consistent meal. 4 years in a row without a complaint.

Well, I have to say none of them. EVERY restaurant is going to have a bad day once in a while. Fortunately, my experiences for the most part have been good. But as sure as a general consensus here says one restaurant NEVER has a bad day, you will go there and it will be a bad day. Things happen all the time - people take sick days without notice or quit, leaving a restaurant short handed. Supplies aren't delivered on time, or a power outage shuts things down for a while right in the middle of the rush.

For example, on one trip I had two Le Cellier reservations, a week apart at the exact same time of day - 11:30am. The first one, everything went perfect - from the seating, to the ordering, to the food, to the service, it was fantastic - best meal of the trip. However, the next week I went in, ordered the same meal, and everything went wrong - from seating, to ordering, to the food being prepared incorrectly (and nearly inedible) to having to hunt down the server just so I could leave. That meal was the worst meal of the trip. I was amazed that two dining experiences at the same restaurant only one week apart could be so different, but it just goes to show you that nothing is guaranteed.

So please, even though I know you'll get some good advice here from people who have had good dining experiences, keep your expectations realistic and roll with the punches if you have to turn lemons into lemonade.

Very true...........That's true for anywhere you go.:goodvibes
