What is the most amount of points you ever lost?

Just reading some other threads and the thought popped in my head... Have any of your points ever expired after a UY? If so, how many? Who has lost the most?

Seems to be the story of our life too. I guess that's OK though. I'd rather use them than loose them.

It's funny but in my opinion rather than lose points, let say 10 or less, get on the rent trade boards and transfer them at $10 or $11 a point to another DVC Member who is short just a few points. That way you no one loses.

I never lose points, I'm always begging, borrowing and paying for transfers. I never rent, I purchase points for transfer and then handle my own reservation.

Yesterday I was short just 1 point to add Sat to my reservation (last minute) and I bought transfer points on the rent trade board through Paypal and added Sat. All in all it took 15 minutes.

No, they are banked from last year. I have a small AKV contract, so I'll be banking this year's points to use for a ressie the "middle" year. I did gift a member here with one point at the beginning of the month so they could complete a ressie. I didn't charge them though. I thought it unneccesary for 1 point. It was kind of a pay it forward thing.

I lost 4 this UY. They were in holding and I didn't have enough to borrow to make enough for any kind of ressie.

We were going to loose 30 points in January this year so we grabbed another couple and got a 2 br at OKW for MKL weekend and used those suckers up (oh, and a few more). Got a nice long weekend out of the snow and didn't loose points. This was the first time we have even been close to loosing any.

We will "lose" 18 developer points in August. I can't complain as we got 3 trips out of those freebies!

We will lose 5 points on July 31. They are in holding and we have no plans to visit before then. AFAIK, can't transfer them. If I could, I'd probably just give them away.

Don't feel at all badly about it. I consider them the "cost of reducing my stress level". We needed another day for our last BWV trip and had to waitlist. Waitlisted for both PV and SV, but really wanted SV to match the rest of our trip. Of course, PV came through first. SV came through just before we left home for WDW and I was happy that we didn't have to move for our last night.

But those "extra" 5 points were worth it - at least I knew we had a place to stay that last night during the time I was waiting and hoping SV would come through.

me - I think I lost 2 points one year but since then have always been in borrowing mode so that won't happen again.

I have a cousin who lost over 100 points last year. He called me about a month before his use year ended and asked if I knew anyone who could use them. I tried with no success. He almost lost over 100 points this year but I talked him into depositing them with RCI. I told him if he knows he's not going to use the points, call me, but not one month before they expire!
