What is the funniest "not quite right" name for an attraction you have heard?

DH called AK "The Lion King".

"Are we going to The Lion King tomorrow?" :confused3:thumbsup2

My daughter (now 6) has given me my two best laughs:

The Monoride Rail
The Great Epcot Ball Ride (not to be confused with the The Great Movie Ride) :lmao:

The dolphins on top of the Dolphin are actually the mythological versions of the dolphin. They are also all around WDW./QUOTE]

Actually, there are two types of Dolphin, the mammal, which is similar to the porpoise, and the fish, which is a tropical creature, refered to by the Hawaiians as mahi mahi, and is the one depicted at the swan and dolphin.

Quacktatty - I love this! Sounds like my father! :rotfl:

Talking to my dad about his trip right now:

Test Car Ride = Test Track

Tour of Fear = Tower of Terror

Photo Press = Photo Pass

Saying Disney World instead of Magic Kingdom is no better or worse than saying MGM instead of DHS. The Magic Kingdom WAS Disney World until 1982. DHS was MGM until the contract ran out. Although I would be much more likely to do the first because I went to the Magic Kingdom before Epcot several times, but I was never in DHS when it was MGM.

What I do, that may annoy some, is refer to the Peoplemover. The ride has not changed since that was the name, and I just LIKE Peoplemover better than TTA. Also it can be easy to confuse the acronyms TTA and TTC, which are VERY different.

sort same thing here, it'll always be the WEDWAY to me. i can't get used to DHS; it'll always be MGM to me, was there when it opened.

We call the Swan & the Dolphin, "The Trout & The Duck"

This definately made me spit my orange juice all over my laptop :rotfl2: DF calls it this too. When I told him it was a dolphin he looked at me like i was nuts and said "no honey, that's a trout" and kept driving while i was laughing histerically and he didn't get it

Actually, it is a classical representation of a dolphin based on the work of Italian sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

The mahi-mahi is, I am pretty sure, very similar to the classical representation (which is the mythological version). I had a link in my original post which had a whole bunch of photos of all the dolphins at Disney.

For instance, the Greek poet Arion, who was rescued by a dolphin after having to jump off a ship:

(I fixed your image too, so it would show up)

If you are there Sept 10-14 and hear a blonde lady referring to Soarin as "Snorin" that would be my mom, lol. She is the worlds worst about remembering names of attraction/park names. It's like she doesn't even think about it I mean come on.....Snorin? Really mom? She cracks me up and we make fun of the crazy things she says all the time. She calls TOT the hellavator, Fantamic is Fantasia, EE is Mt. Everest, Spaceship Earth is the big ball, Test Track is Fast Track, and there are many more. I'll post them as I think of them.

There are a few rides that my family occasionally refers to with an incorrect name...we know what the true names are, it's just our own nick names we've given the rides...mainly calling Spaceship Earth "The Big Ball Ride" instead. Also, we call Journey Into Imagination "Figment" instead.

But ya know, sometimes I do have to giggle :goodvibes when people refer to things and you KNOW they don't have a clue.
My fave, like someone already mentioned is referring to MK as "Disney World", but call DHS, AK and Epcot by name. Or people who get all things WDW and Universal confused.:rotfl:

The dolphin does NOT look like a dolphin.

I call it the catfish from outer space.

Two things I have overheard:

Getting on magical express at the airport, next to a couple who were going to an All Stars resort. They were talking about walking to Animal Kingdom Park, because the All Stars were Animal Kingdom resorts. I didn't have the heart to break it to them, but they were in for a major disappointment when they go to the resort.

Lots of people confuse Spaceship Earth and Mission Space. I bet they get disappointed when they get on the ride and discover it isn't what they expected.

Last year I helped my friend plan her ADR's for her 1st trip. She came back and told me she liked "Polly O Hannah's" the best. She still calls it that.

Yeti ride
"bugs world" (Tree of Life)
Journey into Figment
Bird House (tiki)
jungle snooze
Dopey ride
camel ride (magic carpets)

Back in the 70's/80's the Tomorrowland Speedway used to be called the Grand Prix, we'll my mom always insisted on giving it an english pronunciation (Grand Pricks).

We keep trying to reteach ourselves DHS instead of MGM but it's not working out so well. We used to call DTD buena vista village.

I read this whole thread and it is hilarious. The things the kids say is just so funny. :goodvibes

I call Astro Orbitor the Vomit Comet, I don't know if that counts.

BTW, you would not believe the number of guests who have no idea that there is a ride in the "golf ball".

My grandpa has a hard time hearing and we were talking about Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin. He says the Bud Light-year ride must be real great can you can get a beer on it.:rotfl2:
I had to explain to him who Buzz Lightyear was.
