6:30am.
I have vasovagal syncope that is made worse by getting right out of bed and starting the day which means I have to build in a solid 30 minutes to be awake but not up and moving which does make me more stressed that I'm being "lazy".
Having kids made me a morning person. Trouble sleeping at night made me follow a common tip and set a consistent schedule regardless of workday or weekend.
6:15am alarm every day, 365. Many days I don’t actually sleep that long, so 6:15 feels like sleeping in.
The positive is I love my quiet morning coffee with no one else awake.
And on Disney trips I’m ready to manage Genie etc and rope drop, no problem.
I start work at 7.30am (as a nurse) so get up at 6.30am as I live close by. Been doing that since 2012. Before that it was 7am starts so up at 6am for years. Roll on retirement
Back in the day we got up around 5am to start the work around the farm. That was pretty much the norm for years and years. I now just wake up when I want and really don't have a set schedule. I can't remember the last time I set an alarm to be honest. It's been a pretty long time.
Have to get up?
Just early enough to get kids to school.....but that was years ago.
But now I do get up earlier than ever before in my life. I have an internal alarm that just won't let me stay asleep. So in retirement I am up every day by 4:15 am
4:14 AM did it for years -went to bed most night at midnight - twice a year 2:30 AM to be at work by 4AM - that would be for two days twice a year fir a special event and they were full days ! Ugh hated those
Now it’s 5:35 AM I feel like I’m sleeping in
Last 13 years before I retired, up at 2 am to be at work at 3 am. Previous 25 years, I worked 11 pm to 7 am so the 3 am shift was SLEEPING IN for me. Pandemic I worked from home, got up at 2:50 am, got dressed and logged on at 3 am.
I worked in Bar Harbor for almost three years, meaning I had to leave the house by 5:30 to be to work on time. That meant getting up by 4:45am. I'll tell ya... when that grant didn't get renewed and my job no longer existed, I wasn't terribly heartbroken.
