What is the earliest that you have checked in?

We may be flying into MCO just before midnight on Dec. 6th but we are not checking in until Dec. 7th. I figure that by the time that we get our luggage and rental car and make our way to AKV it will probably be around 1:00AM on Dec. 7th. Would we be able to check in at this time?

I understand that with any early check in there may not be a room ready. We have checked in a few hours early before and they have always had a room ready for us. I was wondering if we showed up at 1:00am, would they let us check in even if there was a room available or should we just book a room at an offsite hotel for this night?

Thanks for any info.

I thought I read before that you can't check in and get a room before 5:00 a.m. or some time like that. I would book off site and get some sleep.

I have checked in at 8:00 a.m. and have gotten a room. I have checked in at 8:00 a.m. and haven't gotten a room until after 4:00 p.m.

You are flying in on one of the busiest weekends so I doubt a room will be ready until quite late in the day. Book offsite or at a value for the Sat/Sun.

Claire ;)

If you want a room at 1am, you would have to pay for an extra night. Otherwise, early check-in (to get your room-key, although your room probably won't be ready until much later) is 7am.

We checked in at 3:30 am and had to pay for the the (previous?) night. A few years ago, I checked into POR at 2:00 am Saturday and paid for Friday nite. The only advantage is lack of lines at check-in.

You'd need a reservation for Dec 6 to check in at 1AM in the morning on Dec 7. Since you don't have a reservation until Dec 7, you won't be able to check in until about 6AM. And your room may not be ready until after 4PM.

The earliest I ever checked in at a non-DVC was around 8:00am at CSR. I think the earliest at a DVC was around 10:00am at BWV, we stayed at Boardwalk Inn the night before (I added a night to get frequent flyer tickets).

We checked in at the Poly at 5:30 a.m. one year after driving all night with a sick child-we just wanted to drop off our luggage and find a doctor, but the wonderful staff got us in our room and the doctor on site was there within the hour-an ear infection-and she was medicated and sleeping by 9:00.

VWL 7:00 AM. We were heading to MK for EMH at 8:00 and didn't care if the room was ready or not. It was and we dropped our luggage off and then headed out. The price we paid for having our room ready so early was the dumpster view!

On the other hand we checked into POFQ at 5:00 PM one time and our room was not ready yet! We had a 6:30 at O'hana and I was a little ticked off that we couldn't freshen up before dinner. They ended up having our room ready at 6:00, comped us the night, and drove us to the Poly for our dinner.

I usually check in between 7-8am and usually don't get a room. There's only been a time or two where I've actually been given a room, otherwise I just give my luggage to the guy on the curb and park my car...hop the bus to the park and let my day begin.

At 1am, I would say pay for an extra night since you'll probably be tired and I doubt you want to sit in the hotel lobby for six hours waiting, then only be able to go to a park. On busy days, rooms generally aren't ready until after 3pm.

On our September trip, we have to leave town at 6:00 pm. We'll arrive about 12:00 midnight. We plan on sleeping overnight at POP ($70 AAA rate) and then moving over to our BWV (Boardwalk VIEW :) ) the next morning.

You have inspired me to look into checking in that night. Cain't Hurt!

We checked in at 6 am in October last year after driving all night, and it didn't matter that I told them I didn't feel well and that we laid in the lobby at AKL for nine hours (minus one hour to go to the fitness centre to shower and change) and checked at the desk every half hour, our room was not ready until 3:10 p.m., even though several people checked in after we got there - no pity for two completely exhausted adults - and yet the day we transferred over to OKW, our studio was ready at 9:30 am - guess it depends on the resort and the CM's (ours was really gruff and not very friendly at AKL, and it was DH's 40th - no magic for us!). I would get a room somewhere or book it for the day before so you get a good night's rest and can spend the day at a park while you wait for your room - I wish we would have done that, but we were spoiled with DVC getting us rooms in the morning so many times before, we thought we'd only have a couple of hours to wait.
Good luck!

The only way you will be able to check in at midnight will be to pay cash to exTend your reservation. Your reservation doesn't start until at least 6AM in the morning. If you want to check in at midnight, you need to add the night before to your reservation.

YUP this is true. I check in one evening( morning) at 2:00 AM and I paid for the extra night and yes it was at POP and I xfered to BWV Villas the next day.

Outside of that I frequently check in at 6:00 AM and NEVER has my room been ready, but I didn't expect it would either.....

We've been lucky in the past. We drive "non-stop" from NJ and we've checked in early, at about 10am at BWV. Last August, we got in really early, at about 4am and last the past posts, couldn't check in till after 6am. When the CM check for availability, there was none. We didn't get our room till after 2pm and we felt dirty, and exhausted. I agree with the previous posts that you should either add another night to your reservation, or stay in a disney's value resort so disney can transfer your bag to the new resort. Enjoy your vacation.:goodvibes
