Hi Disers!

just read that Earthquake has been replaced with 'Disaster' could anyone tell what the ride is?

Haven't ridden it yet, but I know stuff about it.

It's the exact same ride, but on the way back you watch it again on a screen in the "subway".

Don't know what's different about the pre-show, but I heard that its different.

That's basically it. That being said, it's a must do.

Both of the new pre-show elements are fantastic and the technology that they use in the first segment is unbelievable. I don't even think Disney has anything that rivals it.

Do it.

The preshows are completely different. I really like this overhaul because it brings back a lot of the filmmaking aspects of it which has been forgotten in a lot of other recent attractions.

Christopher Walken plays a movie director of all of the best disaster movies and he's casting us to be in his latest one. There are some really well done effects and some very funny things happen along the way.

The pre-show signs, exhibits and movie posters are great! The pre-show live segments are much more entertaining. You interact via director instructions during the subway ride. At the end you get to see a preview of the final movie using all the clips they filmed during the ride. That film alone makes the ride much more worthwhile than the original version. This ride went from one I only took newbies on to a ride I will go on often.

Disaster! ... (Or Destruction, as my DS13 kept saying!)
We did this yesterday and when we did it, my DS9 got to be the kid who is rescued by The Rock.
It was great seeing the "movie" put together at the end.
When they taped his part, they had a rock hanging from the ceiling and they told him to keep staring at "the rock." When we finally saw the end product, it was pretty funny.
Neat to see how they took his little jump and had him jump onto The Rock and then land next to him.
Too cute!
The "Granny" in our group was a hoot, too!
Same ride as before, but the special effects and the actual filmmaking make it better, IMHO.

I agree with the previous posters - the first room you enter that shows Christopher Walken has amazing effects - much different than a film - he looks like he is standing on the stage in front of you.

The actual ride itself is the same, but everything else has changed. And you may be in the final movie shown at the end of the ride!

I hope you had your video camera!

I want to be rescued by The Rock:rotfl:
