What is the difference in the different category 5 rooms?

Looking at different rooms to book for a family of 3 on a 4 night Dream Bahamas cruise, there is about a $150 dollar difference (4 night cruise) in the category 5 rooms. 5E is on decks 6,7,8,9,10. The only difference I noted was the 5E rooms say oversized private verandah, some with whitewall, while the rest say private verandah. Also 5D is deck 6, 5c is deck 7, 5B is deck 8, 5A is deck 9 or 10, with A being the most expensive.
I remember being on deck 8 on the wonder and deck 6 on the magic. Is there some hidden danger in picking 5e here, like an obstruction or something?

Its location location location.

The prices go up the closer to Midship as its a prefered location.

The prices got up the higher the deck as thats prefered.

Some aft, ( rear) staterooms are obscured or have an enclosed navigator's verandah rather than a full one.

Everything that has been said so far in this thread is correct. There are no Navigator's Verandahs on the Dream and Fantasy, those are only on the Magic and Wonder (Cat. 7A). The Cat. 7A rooms on the Dream and Fantasy are sold as Navigator's Verandahs, but they really are regular verandahs that are either undersized or have an obstructed view.

As for the Cat. 5E rooms that you asked about: they are facing aft and have larger verandahs, but they are downgraded to 5E because they are far from midship, and they have whitewalls. From what I've read here, the whitewalls do not cause any obstruction on the Dream and Fantasy. So I see no "hidden danger" in picking a 5E room. I have never personally been in a 5E room, so have no firsthand knowledge, but I am just saying what others have said in the past.

There are actually Navigator's Verandahs (7a) rooms on the Dream and Fantasy. We are booked into one in September. That is a specific category because of possible obstructions though, so booking a 5E would not be obstructed.

Also, If you are worried about rooms go to the stickies and read the stateroom reports. They will give you a good idea of the room and surroundings.

No, the Dream and Fantasy does not have rooms with actual Navigator's Verandahs. The Cat. 7A rooms that you mention are sold as Navigator's Verandahs, but are actually regular verandahs that are either undersized or obstructed. The actual Navigator's Verandahs are very different, and they are only on the Magic and Wonder.

Ahh... I did not realize they were different. This will be my first time in a room labeled as that, even though I guess it is not :)
