We have a Rainforest Cafe in the Minneapolis area, so I know we're not interested in that. I've also never been very impressed with it...

Is the Coral Reef a lot different? How does it compare to Rainforest Cafe?

Thanks!

Umm, there really isn't anything that is similar about them other than both serving food. Coral reef is just a nice dining experience where one wall of the room is actually a view into the tank at the Living Seas.

Coral Reef is seafood.
Rainforest Cafe has a lot more variety.

Having a husband who won't touch seafood, I've never been lucky enough to go to Coral Reef. I think it's the name that scares him off. We have been to Rainforest Cafe though. Lots of neat "stuff" in the restaurant if you're all about atmosphere. Coral Reef sounds more adult friendly, but I don't speak from experience.

We have eaten at both many times(Rainforest at AK, and Coral Reef) and there isn't much they have in common. Rainforest-loud, dark, animatronic animals, large amount of food to choose from. Coral reef, calm atmosphere, huge tank(fish, sharks, turtles, rays, etc) not as much to choose from but very good food(a chicken, fish, seafood, steak options) I would say almost an adult atmosphere, but I am not the least bit afraid to take our kids there. Our kids love the blue glowing cubes they put in the drinks.

Well, one difference is that Coral Reef is good. Rainforest Cafe is horrendous and regarded by many to be a very bad meal.
