What are the differences between WDTC and CRO? I just read that booking through CRO has a 6 day cancellation notice with no fee, and WDTC has a 45 day cancellation notice. Can someone expand on this? I called an 800 number (must have been WDTC). In the past I have dealt with CRO, but I can't remember why CRO and not WDTC. I got the 40% discount for September. Could I have booked that discount through CRO? Can I change to CRO now? I didn't realize at the time of booking that I was calling WDTC. I'm confused!!

It's more simple than that.. the polices between the two are the same.

Room only.. cancel more than 5 days prior to check in and no fee.

Package... cancel more than 45 days prior to check in and no fee

If you cancel your reservation after those times.. with room only you forfeit the first nights cost. With a package I think it's 100$ penalty for cancellation during days 44 to 6.. and for days 6 or less 200$ or so.

CRO is Central Reservations. WDTC is Walt Disney Travel Company. Any package reservation made directly with Disney is automatically WDTC. Period. No exceptions. Different Florida law applies to vacation packages vs. room only bookings.

A full list of terms and conditions for booking Disney travel is found here:

http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/room_package_terms.htm

While those terms are for board sponsor DreamsUnlimited -- pretty much the same terms apply whether you book it yourself or with an agency.

Thank you! I booked a room-only ressie. I got the wrong information from the CM. She told me the cancellation notice was 45 days. I just checked my confirmation and it does say 5 days.

OK - so now I have a problem. I booked room only, but my terms do say 45 days and that is what he said on the phone. I read yesterday that if I book CRO it would have been different. I didn't know there was a difference and called WDTC off the disney site.

What do I need to do? If the weather forecast is awful (hurricaine) I might not want go!!! I'm driving 12 hours there.

Help!!!

If your terms say 45 days on your confirmation notice. You were booked on a package.

Did you get tickets? Dining? Anything? Anything else added to a room is a package.

You could and should call back to confirm your booking and re-check the terms.

If you are more than 45 days out right now.. you can cancel the whole thing and re-book if you have to.

If you are super worried about your trip - consider trip insurance.

No, I have room only at POR for 4 nights around $780.00. He asked if it would be room only and...I specifically told him that I would buy my tickets elsewhere and no dining as I needed to be a free agent. He seemed really nice, so not sure what happened there.

I will call them tonight!

Thanks Knox! ;)

My confirmation notices for Packages were always different than confirmation notices for room only.. They had the correct terms on them.

A quick phone call should sort this out.

CRO = The old name for DRC (the Disney Reservation Center). They book room packages, room only reservations, dining, recreation, etc. They have call centers in Orlando and Tampa.

WDTC = the Walt Disney Travel Company. This is the department in charge of package bookings done through Disney. While they do have thier own phone lines (Located at DRC), WDTC packages can also be booked by other sources. AAA bookings, online bookins, etc are often WDTC reservations. Pretty much any pre-paid package is a WDTC package, even if tickets are not included.

And let's not even bring up the Wholesale department or groups!

Hey Knox,

Thanks!!! I called WDTC and talked to a really great rep and got everything changed over. She tried to tell me I would miss out on the $15 Hollywood Planet certificate and free golf, plus she said they were sending me Sea Raycer vouchers. But...of course that didn't win me over and I cancelled the original reservations and started over since those are things I probably won't have time to do anyway.

In addition, I was allowed to charge my park tickets to my room key and I can cancel those up to 6 days too.

This makes me feel so much better knowing I have options that close to my reservation dates.

THANKS AGAIN,:cheer2:

Wendy

Super. That's great Wendy -- glad to hear it.
