What is the current stateroom gift on the fantasy?

I never got any magnets and I'm platinum.

LOL...you should complain!! we got the magnets as soon as we turned gold 3 cruises ago or so...lost them since though... oh well, $5 worth of magnets down the drain.

For the love of god DCL needs to change the sling bags, they are horrible and I'm tired of them.
The beach/tote bags prior to the slings being introduced 3+ years ago where the best IMO.
They should seriously have a different gift every year. Having the same one for over 3 years is almost insulting to repeat cruisers.

I agree!!!! This is the most useless “gift”. Disney has been declining significantly in stateroom gift quality. All levels need to be improved n there should be nicer or multiple gifts as u increase ur Castaway level, like they used to do.

The burlap tote bag came out September 2015. The sling bag came out September 2017. I was on both cruises when the gift changed. As we head out this weekend, (if Dorian allows), it’s time for a new gift as they change about every 2 years. I liked the castaway level bags, silver, gold, platinum. I have a couple of red mesh totes and a backpack too. I gave away the burlap totes and sling bags. Had about 8 of each!

Fingers crossed that they change the Castaway Club gifts before our cruise this December. The sling bags are okay but we don't need any more. They are much better than those awful burlap sacks they used to give out, though.

I would love a cute magnet that states your CC status. A decorative throw would be great. A decorative cup or key ring would be nice, too.

Couldn't agree more. Since we always get two staterooms I have at least 10 of these things. I just put 5 in my trunk that I'm taking into work tomorrow to give to whoever wants one. We're cruising again in 2 weeks and I'm sure I'll get 2 more bags and 4 more useless luggage tags.

LOL... yeah... it tells you how incredibly cheap and petty DCL are... these bags cost them what? $5/ea?
DCL: "here's $5 as a thank you gift for being a loyal customer who's spent upwards of $xx,000...please sail with us again!"

We loved the dry erase board with the CC status... and we just missed the game tin by a couple weeks. Would love to see that and towels come back.

That is probably pretty close to the truth. As many return cruisers as they get, they probably order in huge batches.

Beach towels r great. Useful stuff is perfect. Bottle opener, Disney brand snacks, Tervis brand tumbler (the off brand ones they’ve given away in past all broke), clips for beach towel, pillow, towel, pin, playing cards. There r so many things that wouldn’t cost them much, wouldn’t compete w there shop sales, n would make us all so much happier. I mean, really, we just spent thousands of dollars bc we love Disney n It would b nice for them to make us smile as we open the gifts, not just toss them aside n b disappointed w them.

The biggest problem with towels or blankets is most people have packed luggage so getting it home would be an issue. Bags can be folded to be very flat - towels and blankets not so much.

Time for something else than bags or backpack
Blanket ..throws would be fun you lay them flat in your suitcase

There are sling bags on Amazon for about that price. So DCL’s cost is 1/4 to 1/2 of that at most. So with the luggage tag you are probably only worth $2.50 to them.

Would love to see something new but doubt that there are any changes coming soon. Plus we will be on the Magic in Europe so i’m guessing it probably won’t change on that ship until it returns to the US ports anyway.

I am jealous that some people get to cruise so often that they have 8 or 9 of a gift that has been around for about 2 years.

We have enjoyed, and use our 2 different beach totes and 1 sling bag from our cruises. We can only cruise every 2 years or so so the gift has been different for each one of our cruises (subtle differences between the totes). I can imagine not wanting 8-9 of the same thing, the bags have been useful to us, but we do only have 1 of each.

I don't want kitsch though personally; bottle openers, pins, yet another tumbler (we have too many already), coasters, etc. is all just clutter and trinkets to me. And I agree with others any blanket or pillow that I actually could fit in my luggage probably isn't worth taking home. And over time, who wants 8 DCL throws? Isn't this just the same problem? A throw of blanket that lays flat enough to fit in my suitcase is a sheet, and I don't need DCL sheets... (as much as my wife would probably welcome them).

When I traveled more for work I had status with SPG. That got me a free bottle of water or 2, free internet, free parking, etc. I imagine those things (or similar) would be a lot more useful to cruisers and less "hated" over time like the beach totes and sling bags. It is tough though because I don't think they could offer discounts to the Spa or Shutters as I think they are both 3rd party vendors not owner or operated by Disney. Maybe there could be "coupons" for a free popcorn and pop in Walt Disney or Buena Vista Theaters? A free specialty beverage (smoothie, coffee, or wine)... etc.
