What is the cost to park at Disney World?

We are staying off property and will have our own car. Does is make more sense to take the free shuttle the hotel offers, or to drive?

Parking at the Theme Parks is $8.

It depends if your hotel has shuttles at the time you want to leave the park. Some do very few runs and get packed or you have to wait forever for them. With your own car you don't have to worry about waiting when everyone in your group is dead tired and desperate to get to the hotel.

Note that you only pay the $8.00 parking fee once a day. So if you leave and go to another park just show your receipt so you won't have to pay again.

Another vote for using your own car. Any hassles from parking or finding your car later in the day will be offset by the fact that you can leave whenever you are ready. There is nothing worse than suddenly getting tired, and wanting to leave the parks, than realizing that the next shuttle to your hotel won't be there for a couple more hours.

If you are traveling with small children, its alot easier getting the strollers, baby bags, camera's, etc in and out of the car. plus if you decide you do not need to take everything into the park with you, you have easy storage space.
