What is the cost of a taxi from MCO to Old key west resort?
or Disney world area?
TIA:surfweb:

After taxes, tolls, and tip mine came to about $90 in April from MCO to Magic Kingdom (one-way). Its a fixed fare from the airport at like 65 + fees / tip.

Can I ask why you aren't using Disney's Magical Express? It is free if you are staying on property and it sounds like you are. To me it is one of the great perks for staying on property. I love that I don't have to wait for my bags or stand in line at the car rental counter.

I'm very concerned about the delay arriving to the resort with ME and then how much earlier do they want to pick you up, 3 hours???
Yikes!

You can expect to get to your resort within 90 minutes of deboarding. When you factor in the amount of time you are walking all the way down to the baggage claim, retrieving your baggage, going down to the first level and waiting for a cab - you would be halfway on your way to the resort.

Coming back, considering the amount of time you have to be at the airport before you depart and the possibility of running into traffic, etc. you would have to leave about 2-1/2 hours before plane departure, which saves roughly 30 minutes.

On the way to the resort a cab will only save you 10 to 15 minutes. Maybe not even that.

On the way back to the airport you will still need to leave the resort 2-1/2 hours before your flight.

Is the 45 minutes you'll save (round trip) worth $150?

our plane arrives on a Tuesday morning at 11:15a and we have a 2:15p ressie in DHS. We've ALWAYS used a towncar service but since we're going to the MVMCP I was thinking of saving using ME, but the fear of the unkown is scary. Would you chance it?

Absolutely. Assuming your plane arrives on time you can plan on being at your resort by 12:45. 1:00 at the latest. If you feel you're running short on time, you can take a cab from your resort to DHS for about $10 to $15.

okay, I think we're going to try it. Thanks

You have nothing to lose. We love it. Although it MIGHT take longer than a cab, you could end up being there in just as little time. Last year we went to the ME desk, walked over to our sign and boarded the bus. We left MCO within minutes. It is all in the timing and how long you have to wait for the bus to fill, but we were at the check in desk in around 45 minutes from the time we handed over our paperwork at the ME desk (I collect my own bags).
