What is the concierge level?

What is the big deal with concierge level? Is there some truly incredible perk(s) to have to spend more points on it?

It really is nice as they will make and check any ADR you want, Help with tix to cirque du soliel, even gatthe kids movies they might want to watch in the room. The food is nice for those late night cravings and we thought the room attendants were better and did nice little things for us like washcloth animals or extra toiletries. Loved it, just wish they had it for DVC.

hmmmm ok so far I don't see the big fuss then. We have stayed at Value resorts and I have been able to have the concierge desk check and make my ADR's. The only thing I have not gotten is the towel animals.

There is no concierge level at the value hotels, or other DVCs. I know they have it at the Deluxe Resorts, Unsure (but doubt) they have it at the Moderates.

The Concierge Desk where you stand in line at the Values and DVC is not he same as Concierge Level at AKV.

There is no similarity between the concierge desks at the resorts and concierge service at the deluxe resorts......

The "concierge desks" that are at all of the WDW resorts are nothing more than the old guest service desks with a better name.

one of the best features of a real concierge is probably if you have a small child who really wants to eat with the princess but all the reservations are gone when you try.

sometimes these CM can get that much wanted and praised reservations.

does anyone know what days they offer the sunrise safari and whether we would be able to check availability before we booked a concierge room using our points? We want to stay at AKV last week of Sep or first week of Oct. Since we won't be able to book until June, i'm guessing it's a real possiblity the sunrise safari could be booked up - so why bother with concierge in that case (the food is nice, but I'm just as happy in a savanna view with my treats from Mara!)

We have done concierge before at the Grand Floridian, although it was many years ago. You basically have first rate service at your fingertips. It is probably best for those who fail to make prior preparations -- e,g., its noon, its peak time of year, and you want a dinner ressie; for regular guests all the times are altready taken at the good places, but magically you can get a time of your choice at the restaurant of your choice through your hotel rep. Back then you also had free stroller access at the parks (don't know if they still do that) and access on demand to anything that otherwise usually requires reserving well in advance.

Nevertheless, I did not think it was that special and never did it again because believed the extra price was not really worth it.

The food offerings are nice. We were at the Poly for New Years in 2006. I love there food! The bbq beef was wonderful! I am very "A" retentive about my ADRs so I usually make my own. But the concierge staff is great if you are in a pinch and want an unavailable ressie.

I wish I had a concierge level at home... you know... somebody that would clip my dogs' nails and such. I Hate having to do that.

If you booked concierge at akv would you get daily housekeeping instead every 4th day?

I personally think it is a complete rip off, what you pay for what you get seems completly out of line with anything else available at Disney. I was staying in the GF last August and on our first night followed someone in to the concierge block outside the main building thinking it was the place I was staying, the only food available at around 11.30 am was a bowl of bruised bananas and apples, it was over a $100 more per night to stay in here than the rack rate which I paid for a standard room, the the choice is yours a bowl of cereals on a morning and a rotton banana at night for a mere $100++ dollars or Disney Dining Plan for $38.99.
