We are planning on going to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast during our trip in May. :cool1: We have our PS so now I am wondering which is the cheaper way to go??? Do I use my AP discount of 10% or do I buy the prepaid meal vouchers from Getaway today?? Any tips and info would great!!

Thanks!!;)

The difference between those 2 options are minimal, probably less than $1. I personally like the option of pre-paying. I just ordered our character breakfast and lunch from getawaytoday.com. No shipping charges this way either, you just pick them up at the ticket booth when you get there.

It depends on how many people you are buying the vouchers for. For one or two people you will probably spend more but if you are buying a lot of vouchers it is worth it. Write down how much it will cost then do the AP price. Go to GAT and check out their prices for your group including handling.

You can save with GAT even if you have an AP but only if you are getting 3 or more vouchers usually.

Do you, by chance, belong to AAA? If so, I'm pretty sure you'd get a 15% discount. ;)

Also check arestravel.com, I know their parkhoppers are the cheapest, and I know their ariels dinner is quite a bit less expensive then at the park price (for next week), but i have not checked goofys nor checked ares agaiinst GAT for meal vouchers.

There are five us going. Me, DH, DD15, DD13, and DS 8. So only one child and the rest adult prices.

No, we don't belong to AAA.

Premium AP's give you a 15% discount. Deluxe gets 10% off. The cheapest time to go is off-peak for breakfast, so you are on the right track! I think AAA is only 10% off, from what I heard from my friend who used AAA last year. I am not sure things like GAT or Ares are worth it because it never sounds like the discount is that significant after everything has been tallied up.

Oh darn, I thought AAA discount was 15%, but I'll take anything I can get. :goodvibes

I am pretty sure AAA is 10% because it is only 10% elsewhere in the resort. I dont think the vouchers are really worth it either but if you want to know that the meal has been paid for and not have to worry about it then you should pre pay. Enjoy your trip! :)

GAT has a higher gate price online than what DLR quoted to me on the telephone just now so I can only give you a guestimate.
DLR quote for May is about $132.79
Gat is about 10 to 11% off plus handling.

If those are the only purchases then you are paying about $4.00 to $4.50 in handling fees at $20 for handling, it may be less though. Should you do it? If you like prepaying for the meal thus not having to budget then go with the GAT for the peace of mind. I cannot tell you what to do as it is up to you. If it was $10 a person then I would skip it but it would be nice to have the money spent before hand so when I hit DLR I would know just how much I had left.

Absolutely right - any discount is better than NO discount - especially for the expensive character meals!!:goodvibes

Check out Flight Center they have pre paid vouchers to Goofy's kitchen and the prices are somewhat cheaper then paying when you get to the DLH

I don't know if this will help at all, but we recently applied for the Disney Rewards Visa and after I used it the first time I was sent 4 vouchers for a character breakfast... :yay:

Do you have to buy this from AAA or show your AAA card? (I never think to ask about discounts) :confused3

AAA, CM and AP discounts are done when you pay. Hand them the card and they will adjust the bill then.

I also got with Visa Rewards card the 4 free meals, 2 adult and 2 kids vouchers.

I was quoted $37 from a CM on the phone for Goofy's Kitchen breakfast and bought a voucher from GAT for $32. Both prices included tax and tip. A 10% discount off of $37 would end up costing about $33. With prices this close, it probably just depends whether you want to pay before your trip or while you're there. I use "cash only" to help monitor spending while on vacation, so I wanted to buy mine in advance.

Thank you for the info!! ;) Looks like it is only a few dollars difference between using the vouchers and using my Deluxe AP. I also have the Disney Visa!! :goodvibes I am going to use my rewards points to pay for the breakfast anyways so I guess I won't worry about a few bucks! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the help here on the boards!! You guys rock!!:cool1:

Yep, just show your card when paying the bill and they will adjust for the discount at that time.
