My cruise 12/17/2005 is booked for myself, DH, DS8 and DD6. DH really doesn't want to go, what would be the charge for like say replacing him with my sister? Please someone tell me it is a minimal charge and not what the per person rate is going for now. Our cruise is pretty much sold out or sold out for for quads and I book ours a year and half out (8/01/04). The price per person has sky-rocketed for our sailing since then.

It is pretty reasonable, so long as it is not the lead name..IF his is, then it is impossible..I was told this by DCL last year....

I would call...asap.. :goodvibes

We are sailing 6/25/05. I was concerned that IF - and I say IF - my son makes Allstars, I would leave it up to him to decide whether to go or stay. But we wouldn't know that until 7 days before our cruise. DCL told me it would cost me $600 to delete him. But, I didn't ask what it would cost to switch names.

It's a huge IF, so I'm glad we booked this cruise.

If you change the name prior to final payment, there is no charge. It is only after final payment that penalties and charges go into effect.

Really! That is great!

What about the lead name on the reservation, which I am sure is DH's, will that cause problems because it will be him that may be replaced?

Hmmm......I know that several years ago, after ticketing there was a $25 per ticket charge for a name change. However, I called DCL about this last September and was told that the new person has to book at the current rate. Now, if that isn't one of the first 2 people in the cabin, it's not too bad, but for the first 2, it can be nasty.

Don't quote me on this one as we ended up not doing it. The cost was so great that we kept it as it was on the original booking. Besides, when DD saw that I was serious, she cleaned up her room!!!

ROFLMAO!!!! That's one way to get the kids to listen. :)

I don't know if this is accurate or not but we were told when we booked on board in April for our next cruise that there isn't a "lead name". I was concerned about this since my husband sometimes has trouble getting off work and I thought I might have to replace him with someone else if he couldn't go. They said that as long as one of the two of us was still on the reservation it was ok. I know people in the past have had problems changing the "lead name" - maybe they did away with it because of this. This was per Danielle on the Magic - maybe there is some way you can email her since she is the one we talked to.

Hope this helps.

My DU TA spent 45 minutes on the phone, recently, working a name change for me. We weren't even deleting anyone, just putting a castaway cay club member in each cabin and I had paid for both of them. DCL wanted to charge full price for me to switch two names.....fortunately the persistance of my DU TA came through and there was no charge.....be careful.

I booked thru All Seasons and was not sure who would be traveling with me and DS so Tom, my agent, suggested that I confirm the other adult in the cabin at the current rate and put their name in when it's decided prior to the payment deadline date. My confirmation arrived with my last name and then TBA as the first name for the other adult. Tom said there would be no charge to change that info to the name and if no one traveled with me the deposit could be applied to the balance.
