What is the Blue Man Group?

they have a show located at universal. if you scroll down to the universal boards then you will be able to get reviews. i loved the show!

Took my 6-year-old to the show last year and he loved it. I had a great time too. It's a bit weird, so I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea.

We saw it right after Christmas and we loved it. I got tickets very early for stocking stuffers so we were able to get front row center. My DH wasn't sure it was his cup of tea :rotfl: but he loved it too...:woohoo: :woohoo:

they have groups in various cities, plus a traveling tour. My brother-in-law's brother is one of them! He is one of the blue-men on the DVD that was put out in 2003 (Complex Rock Tour Live). Pretty neat show!

it is different, it is cool, it is worth it to see. I would put this head and shoulders ahead of Le Cirque de so Lame.

They've been here in Boston for ages! Very fun show - kooky, but you'll laugh your self silly. I don't know how they keep straight faces thru the whole thing!

Is it the same show they do elsewhere? I've seen them in NYC in 2001. The show was great. It was right after 9/11 and it was so nice to be able to smile.

That is so cool!! We have that DVD and it's one of my DS's favs.

My DH and I saw the show in Vegas a couple of years ago. We were able to get 2nd row center seats. It was amazing!! I can't wait until we can take our DS's to one of their show when they come to Dallas.

BMG is one of the very few CD's I can play while my DS's are in the car to keep them from being bored.

The NY and Boston shows may be roughly the same. In Boston, it was originally called "Tubes", but I believe it was updated a bit in the past two years and called "Rewired".

Las Vegas I believe has a very different show.

There is/was also a traveling concert that was called "The Complex" (with a DVD/CD out), and that may have been retooled and is now called "How To Be A Rock Star".

FABULOUS show! Definitely worth the money. Funny and entertaining for all ages. You can find a few of their videos and some of their music on iTunes.

This is my DS at the Blue Man Group show at Universal last summer. We were in the front row, thus the poncho. (This is the first time I've posted a pic here - hope this works)

We went with a large group to Vegas a couple of years ago and Blue Man Group at The Venetian was the show we were taken to. Some came out asking what was "that" all about? and "I didn't get it". There's nothing to "get". It's pure performance art and you just have to enjoy it. I love the expressions of the people in the first few rows when they get to their seats. Some can't figure out why there's ponchos on the seats. We knew almost everyone in the theater so it was fun to tease those in the first few rows. We were up towards the back few rows and helped start the "end" of the show. Since my DH's company had the whole theater they randomly handed out pairs of tickets so that's why we sat so far back, but it was fun.

Moving this one over to the Universal Board.. :)

Thanks,

Knox

My daughter and neice are both in the blase teen stage and they loved this show. In fact, when we go back to Uni in July, they both said that they want to see it again. BTW, I loved it too!

It's a quirky show both of us LOVE! Infact my fiance was a "no go" to see it for months and months then one night this month he caved and we bought tickets...and have been to four shows since! :cool1:

Twice to Universal and twice to the tour that happened to come through Florida at the same time we saw our first theatre show. The tour and the show are very different I must admit we love both but I really like the intimacy of the threatre show. Our favorite parts are the UNTE Wire Man, very cool effect and the Animation Segment.

Here are a few photos of us at the Universal Show Meet and Greet:

And a few photos of the tour show (no photos allowed in the theatres) so you can see a bit of the Blue Men in action. I tried to select ones of skits they also do at the Universal show.

We enjoyed it so much we are planning a visit to Vegas soon to see them there.

I would check out their site BlueMan.com and have a look at the videos, listen to the music, etc. If you go to YouTube you'll find lots of videos there. The songs played during the theatre show do not have words but on the tour they do. Some of the skits are repeated. The finale in Orlando is VERY COOL and will leave you saying "wow", when can we go again?

Lots of pop culture humour involved in the show too, all ages will enjoy it.
