Since my first trip to WDW as an adult, I have been an ardent fan of the Unofficial Guide to WDW - especially the touring plans. Now that I've found this website, you guys have opened my eyes to other field guides out there. So, which is your favorite and why?

Also, what are some awesome tips that you've discovered yourself that aren't in any field guides?

Kraymer:
just wanted to say hi:wave: and welcome you to the DIS...you will find just about anything you want to know(and maybe some you didn't)from the good folks here...as far as the guides go: when we first started going, we used the unofficial guide the first 3 or 4 times and really found it to be very helpful....since we longer use the guidebooks, I can't really help you with any of the others, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice from some of the others on the board....

I love the passporter deluxe version. It has great descriptions and pockets to track your visit - one for your travel plans - one for each day of your stay. The pockets have room for you to add favorite memories and the deluxe version is in a binder that allows you to update it with your own information. Also, you can download updates from their website. I ordered mine on 1/3 and received it on 1/8 or 1/9. Great service and great product.

My favorite is STILL the Unofficial Guide, but I also love the Passporter. I took the Passporter with us on our Christmas Trip--it is easy to customize and holds all kinds of stuff. Still, the Unofficial Guide has more info. I have noticed, however, that ESPECIALLY since 9/11, it has been difficult for any field guide to keep up with changes at WDW. These boards are your best bet for up-to-date info!

Hi Kraymer,

Thanks for reading the Unofficial Guide (and thanks to kevind65 and 2belles'mom, too). If there's anything I can help with for your trip, please let me know.

For in-the-park touring, don't forget the new Touring Plan Companion pages in the 2004 edition of the Unofficial Guide. On one page, we've listed all the attractions, their ratings, location, best times to visit and any ride restrictions.

On the back of that page we've listed every restaurant, with value and quality ratings, plus sample menu items. We've also listed a few nice spots to take a break in each park. As it's one page, you could easily fold this up and put it in your pocket.

Finally, updates to the Unofficial Guide are available free online. My sig below has the URL. I believe the last update we did was in the past couple of weeks, when Wonders of Life went to seasonal operation. So we should be up to date. If we've missed anything, let me know!

Thanks again for reading the Guide. Good luck with your trip!

Sincerely,

Len

Hi,

Just another thumbs up for the Unofficial Guide .

We've bought them over the last couple of years and found them invaluable and the style of writing is spot-on.

I do mention the guide a lot of the time on the Disney Planning boards that I moderate on in the UK.

Len,

Thanks for the link to the updates - off to print them off.

and bought most of the guides (over the last 4 years) and give our hands-down support to the Unofficial Guide. It has the most information and most importantly, the most useful and honest information. (IOHO). Others may have some different useful information but for the best, overall guide...Unofficial by leaps and bounds. I have not been able to see why there is such strong support for the PassPorter. Of all the guides, I was most disappointed in it. (Probably had higher expectations for it than the others...to be honest) It has some good information but found it to be an indepth and not to offer a lot of common sense in doing the parks, resorts, etc.

We love the Unofficial!
