What is the best way to reserve a Disney Hotel?

You think I would know this because I live in less than 15 minutes away from Disneyland....

We are having our house fumigated for termites next weekend - We thought it would be great to stay at one of the Disneyland hotels. We are annual pass holders and I know there is a phone number to call to reserve rooms; but is this the best way to get a good rate?

Any advice would be greatly apreciated!

Thanks!

Karen

There are some good Disney Club discounts - they seems better if you get room only. Here's the number:
(714) 956-M-I-C-K (6-4-2-5)

If you can swing it, the Grand Californian is very nice, and the view from the DCA view rooms is like a postcard!

Also, if staying on site at GC or PP, here's a tip - now I'm not sure if this applies to AP holders - walk through DCA and then enter DL. That way, you ccan go through the rentry lines, which are empty in the morning.

Check with Costco, as well, if you're members. You might also check with a TA, on-line or otherwise. PM me and I'll give you the name of the TA we use. Great results and she takes her vacations at Disney, so she knows what she's talking about.
Your plan sounds cool. Most people just get upset over the inconvenience.
:smooth:

Sometimes expedia.com has some good rates on DL hotels listed too, especially looking on short notice. At least check it out.

I just looked at expedia and the rates went down considerably! I did look at the site a few days ago and the rates were high! But now they have come down a lot! Thanks for the tip about checking again!

I was looking at one of the discount hotel websites, and they had a great deal for on-site hotels. If you stayed three nights, you got a fourth night for free. I think it was www.hotels.com, but I am not positive. I am kicking myself for not remembering which one it was.

UPDATE: I just checked www.hotels.com ... and that was not the site. But... I swear I saw it. I'll keep looking to try and remember which site it was.

UPDATE #2: I did a search on google for "Disneyland fourth night free" and found several websites that are offering this promotion.

That is a Disney promotion through the first few days of January 2003. It should be available many places.

Not to get this off topic, but where are the re-entry lines? We were there last week and I never noticed these. Are they marked differently?

Back on topic, you might try calling the Disney reservations number and asking if they have "Super Sunday" rates for the dates you want. Even if you are not there on a Sunday, that is just what the rates are called. They are cheaper Sun-Thurs, but they also discount Fri and Sat. It's kinda hit or miss if they have any of the rooms left since there are only so many of them each night, once they are gone they are gone, but if someone has that rate and cancels, it would be available again.

Well, I only need the room for one night - So the fourth night free thing won't help - But I will keep that in mind for those nights I am too mad at my DH to sleep in the same bed (just kidding)

I did ask the reservation person about the Sunday discount thing - they were all gone!

Expedia has a special right now and it includes a Disney California view - They also have rooms at the Plaza for $99 -

Thank you all for your help - You have really helped me save some money!

When we were there in June '01, there were lines off to one side (actually early on I only think it was one line) marked re-entry.

I just returned from DL too and saw no re-entry lanes at all. I've only been there once before and was unsure if that was something they don't do at DL or what. It was sure a hassle to have to stand in a line with people just entering for the first time.

Is it considered unusual for them NOT to have a re-entry gate? or the norm?
