We're now in the works of planning our 11th trip back to WDW, for 13 wonderful nights for DD's graduation in June! However, we are a little stuck when it comes to where to eat for breakfast!! We're on the deluxe dining plan and we actually enjoy three meals a day rather than one sit down and one signature, but breakfast is being the problem!
So far, we've made reservations to The Crystal Palace, Kona Cafe, and the Tusker House. We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge, so we might make a couple reservations at Whispering Canyon Cafe too.
So my question is, where is your favorite breakfast on property?
Thanks, and happy holidays!

Have you tried the Tonga Toast at the Polynesian?

As you can see from the recipe it's not for everyone (but I think there's a rule that everyone has to try it once).

I vote for the Tonga Toast @ Kona. I've also heard good things about Boma and Cape May Cafe.

DW loves Tusker House.

Have you tried the Tonga Toast at the Polynesian?

We haven't tried it, but that is actually the main reason we're going to Kona Cafe, because it seems everyone has something good to say about the Tonga Toast.

In addition to the restaurants you listed, Cape May Cafe had a very good breakfast buffet, and the characters are Minnie, Goofy and Pluto wearing beach attire. We found this to be more relaxing than other character breakfasts, although we have enjoyed every character meal we have been to.

We are trying Boma breakfast for the first time this coming July. I have heard wonderful things about the breakfast there, and we finally have the time in our schedule to try it. It's a buffet with some unique items, and some familiar ones. Another one I have heard is very good is Ohana at the Polynesian. It's a character breakfast (Lilo & Stitch, Mickey, Pluto), but they serve family-style so you don't have to go up to a buffet. Seems like it would be much more relaxing!

I have heard good things about The Wave.

We aren't breakfast people but every trip we try one or two different places. We tried Cape May Cafe this time. The food was awesome, the characters awesome & way way less crowded there.

I like Crystal Palace & Tusker House Safari breakfast...both great food & fun characters. But overall I think I liked Cape May better.

Most of my favorites are not in the parks. I'll never understand why the Magic Kingdom doesn't have something like the amazing Carnation Café in Disneyland. I like Kouzzina's breakfast the most. The Grand Floridian Café is a near second. Olivia's, The Rainforest Café and the Kona Café round out my top five.

Thank you for all your replies! I think we'll try Cape May, but oddly enough, we aren't pros at the transportation system when it comes to getting to other resorts for breakfast. Would you suggest going on an Epcot day right when the park opens to the international gateway? Or is there some smarter way?

If Ohana for breakfast is half as good as it is for dinner, I think we will thoroughly enjoy it. I do believe it will be added to our list too.
We will also look at menus for others mentioned.
Thanks so much!

We're not very good at getting to other resorts for breakfast reservations either. I think the best way to get to the Epcot area resorts early in the morning is to take a bus to Hollywood Studios and walk over to the resorts. It's a brisk 10-minute walk to the Boardwalk, maybe a few minutes more to the Yacht and Beach.

Another vote for Boma!

With regards to transportation, The easiest way to get between resorts is to take a taxi. The cost runs between $15-$20. That is how my family got from BW to Poly for breakfast in October.

In terms of walking, it's probably pretty much the same if you walk from DHS or the front of Epcot to Cape May. It is about 1 mile.

Good choice with Kona. IMO, its the best breakfast in WDW.

But stay away from the Tonga Toast, it's disgustingly sweet.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with those who said Ohana... $25 a person for eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits is over priced. Sure it's all you can eat, but it's not much of a selection to pick from. We also found the service at Ohana to be slow. I'd rather be able to go up and get as much as I want when I want. My favorite breakfast is Tusker House - love all the selection, including the African section. When I do DDP, I prefer to do the buffets to get a better value for my TS credits.

And one more for Cape May Cafe. For similar reasons already posted, the atmosphere is calmer than other buffets and character meals, but the food (first and foremost) is great. While it seems like a similar menu to other breakfast buffets, it's uncommonly fresh, at the right temperature, and feels unrushed and uncrowded. Seating is also spread out better so you're not bumping people's chairs as you walk by.

Plus, if you haven't seen the Epcot Resort Area and Boardwalk, it's a good way to "force your itinerary" to see this hidden gem of WDW.

Boma at AKL and Kouzzina at BW. Boma is a fabulous buffet with traditional food as well as African specialties and Kouzzina has very special ala carte entrees.

Boma has the best breakfast on property, hands down.

I've also eaten at Trail's End in Fort Wilderness for breakfast and it is also very good.

I'll second the Wave, the breakfast buffet is really nice. Whole grains, healthier choices. There's also Trail's End breakfast buffet. Both of those are easy to get to from WL via a Friendship boat.

Your best bet to Cape May if you're concerned about transportation is a cab. Or as a PP said, a bus to DHS, then you can take a boat back to YC/BC. You should allow about an hour and half to make sure you get there on time.

We like Kona a lot. I think Tusker House is really tight and rushed most of the time. We've done it twice but we won't do that one again.
