Let me preface this by saying that I am a good cook. Not gourmet, but most of the basic foods I prepare are very good. People do not leave my table hungry! That said, the one thing I can count on everytime are my homemade biscuits. I use a recipe from the Company's Coming Casserole cookbook, and they are delicious! (The secret to good biscuits is to kneed the dough only 10-12 times, they will be hard if you work the dough too much).

Other specialties are Scalloped Potatoes (from the same cookbook), beef stew, and pot roast. What's your specialty?

My family would say my specialties are
Chicken marsala
Baked Stuffed Lobster
Homemade Apple Pie
Homemade Vegetable Soup
I can make a great Turkey and Chicken Dinner,
and meatballs(I use turkey) in hommade tomatoe sauce.
I make quite a variety of foods, but those seem to be the things they ask for all the time.

Other people ask me to make Scotch Shortbread Cookies with icing, french onion soup & Neiman Marcus Choco/Chip Cookies

I do soup and stews really well and can make most "down home/ Paula Deen" food really well. I don't bake well because I really don't like doing it. I will buy pie crust shells, but make the filling from scratch. I love to cook, but my kitchen is really small and I don't have much room, plus time is really a factor too. I like to cook one day on the weekend and then have my meals cooked for the week so all I have to do is heat things when I get home from work.

red velvet cake
chocolate mousse
roast chicken
mashed potatoes
chicken tetrazzini

I consider myself a very good cook....
New England Clam Chowder
Shepard's Pie
Stuffies
Pea Soup with ham

Those are my specialties...

Spaghetti sauce & meatballs
Toll house cookies
salsa
chocolate mousse cake :lovestruc

CC cookies! I don't get why, but everyone always raves about them. I am always being asked to make some for the next get-to-gether at my in-laws and at work too. People at work seem ga-ga over my Swedish Spice Cake too.

My family adores: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cream cheese cookies. I've tried for years to make my meatloaf just like my Mom's and I think I've finally done it! :stir:

My mom's receipe for sugar cookies, meatloaf and turkey dinner.

My I would love your receipe for Shepard's Pie. Both my DH & I love this and I could use a really good receipe. :teeth:

I make really good beef stew, beef stroganoff, turkey carcass soup and ham & vegetable soup. I also make good almost home-made lasagna and meatballs.

Spaghetti sauce and meatballs (I use ground turkey too, and sometimes ground chicken)
Maple sausage
Vegetable soup (making it tonight actually)

Egglant Paremesan
mashed potatoes
chicken soup
banana bread
BBQ Ribs
