Hi all, we are returning to the world to celebrate my 40th birthday!
Does anyone know what day would be the best day to check in for a Lagoon view concierge, in terms of having my room request honored?

I am thinking about arriving early on Dec 11th which is a Sunday, I am hoping that alot of people will be checking out that day since this would be a non-holiday weekend.

Any insight would be appreciated :)

I don't think there really is a *best* day. Yes, people check out on Sunday, but a lot of people also leave (and come in) on Saturday if they are driving home and live more than six or seven hours away.

Your best bet is to make a room request with the IPO in advance. Do'nt ask for a specific room, rather a range. I gave them a range that would encompass six or seven rooms to work with, and haven't been disappointed in either stay.

The Poly LVC rooms are all located in one building so you will know where your room will be. It is just a question of what floor you will be on.

I agree that there is not any one day that is the best. You won't know in advance who or how many families will be checking out on any given day.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and checked in on a Thursday morning and got, in my opinion, one of THE BEST rooms and VIEWS there could possibly be :) (take a look at the pictures of our room and view from the balcony in my review, the link is below).

Have a great trip! :sunny:

Thanks for your replies! Last time my family stayed at the Poly LVC we arrived very late on a Sunday and basically had none of my requests honored. They did however move us the next day to a room on the 2nd floor which was right next to the lounge, with a fantastic view. We were apprehensive at first since it was next to the lounge and we thought we would hear noises from the lounge, but we hear nothing :)

SeaSpray, I have been reading you posts, love the pictures!, and since you were staying on the 3rd floor did you have an issue with a smoke smell in your room? I heard the 3rd floor was smoking optional.

Thanks,
B.

Only about a dozen rooms on the far end of the 3rd floor are smoking. We were on the 3rd floor in teh room closest to the lounge and never smelled a thing.

We *were* in a smoking-optional room, #3517 which is the second from last room on the lagoon side on the third floor, and it did not smell like smoke at all. I didn't even smell it in the hallway, or while out on our balcony.
