It's "resort casual". No one was dressed up. I went in capris DH wore shorts and a golf shirt. I think they request collared shirts for men and ask no ripped jeans, tank tops, flip flops etc....

It doesn't have a "fancy" feel to the restaurant. It's very beachy casual.

I wouldn't put too much effort into what to wear, just enjoy the food and the service, it was amazing!

We have never eaten here but I am thinking of switching our Kona ADR (DH and the kids don't want to eat there again) to Narcoossee's on our Jan. trip. I am anxious to hear what responses you get. I have heard the food is very good.

We are thinking of also using it as a location for our reception next Nov. after our Vow Renewal at WDW. While doing some research on it I found out about this website that has great photos of the restaurant:

I also heard you can go out on the deck area and watch Wishes from there after your dinner if you time it right.

Beachy casual is a good way to describe the feel of Narcoosees. It is child friendly to the extent that your children are restaurant friendly. When we ate there there were plenty of family with children and they were great - having a nice time - sitting and chatting as a family - perfectly acceptable. However, there was one family setting behind us with three young children (four and under I'd say) who were obviously too tired and cranky/bored to be in the restaurant. They were squeeling, screaming, crying, and running around. Instead of taking the children outside the adults were taking turns trying to hold the children still while the others tried to quickly eat their dinner. One of the little darlings even kicked my husband in the back. No appoligies from the parents either. I would hazard a guess that these children were not really ready for any restaurant that night. No one at that table had a good time that night and rudely - neither did anyone seated around them

Excellent food, casual clothes and lots of families there, we loved it! For the poster who is thinking about canceling KONA, you will not regret it!

Narcoosees is our least favorite of the signatures somewhat because it has become so casual. This used to be more of a fine dining experience that was adult oriented but our last two times here it has become more casual and family dining oriented with a higher noise level. The setting is beautiful but we now prefer the more sophisticated fish entrees at FF.

If you are looking for casual atmosphere but good food, this will be a great place for you.

We did Narcoosee's for our anniversary. I wore capris and a sleeveless top - the spouse wore dockers and a polo. We blended well with what everyone was wearing.

I don't know if it's uber-family friendly... Being a signature restaurant, I can see how screaming, tired kids may not be "embraced" there. If I were looking for that on my anniversary, I would not have booked Narcoosee's. But I didn't mind kids that behaved well. That's just me...

They do dim the lights and pipe in the music from "Wishes" when the fireworks start. We requested a table by the windows and got it, but there's a deck outside that people go out on when the show starts, so it doesn't matter where your table is, really.

The food was excellent - we used 2 TS credits from the dining plan for it, and it was well worth it. The spouse and I each got the surf and turf, with an appetizer and desserts, and I think our bill "would have been" about $200. So I wouldn't hesitate to use 2 credits on it at all, if you were thinking about the Dining Plan.

And, the staff brought us champagne and strawberries for our anniversary! We had a great experience, I would recommend the restaurant to anyone!

In our expirience you really have to go out onto the deck to watch WISHES. Even if you get a window table it will overlooking the deck that everyone is encouraged to go out onto to watch so you can't see because people are in front of you. That being said, it is still pretty romantic to stand with your loved one in the Florida night watching the fireworks over the lagoon

I would try for earlier rather than later. My fear would be if you made ressie's for like 730pm, the people who are previously occupying "your" table may linger for the fireworks. Then by the time you were seated you'd be SOL. I would say 7pm-ish. That way even if you get seated late you will be in time for the show.

Will this be easily accessible by monorail? We want to do this place while park hopping!!

Here's another Narcoosee's question....
After looking at photos, it looks like it is not actually IN the resort but has an outside entrance/location.

When you get off the monorail at the GF you will be on the 2nd floor of the main building. You would have to go down to the first floor and then walk towards the back of the lobby area to get to the outside. I believe you just walk towards the lake and you should see it. It is outside by itself.

If you think your children can sit still and color, talk, etc for at least an hour and a half then give the restaurants a try. Kids are welcome. No one will think anything of you bringing them unless they start to cry or whine or scream or run around. If that happens and you can't calm them down, be prepared to take them outside and swap out with your hubby for eating or get your meal to go. I direct a child development center and I personally have met very few toddlers (twos) who could seat for that long. These are great restaurants. Good Luck

I made an ADR for 2/5 last week without a problem - they had a lot of different times to choose from. Good luck!
