Hi to All,

I did a search and didn't find any kind of details for AKL. Has anyone been there? We've got a room that overlooks the pool, is that good? We're a family of five with a 9, 7, & 2 year old, do you think the room will be too small? What is the pool like? The pictures of it are awesome! Any other details that you might want to share as far as dining or any events you might recommend would be much appreicated.

Thanks,

We stayed there last month in a Savannah view room. It is great fun to watch the animals from your balcony. Although you have a pool view there are still plenty of observation balconys and trails to walk around and see the animals. We didn't swim in the pool because we forgot our suits, but wished that we hadn't. The pool looked like great fun as we walked around it and saw everyone enjoying it. The room may be a bit tight with five, but managable. We really enjoyed Boma and Jiko for dining as well as the counter service (Mara?). Boma was probably the best bang for our buck. The ox tail soup was awesome. My daughter (5 years old) found plenty to eat including several items from the desert area :teeth: AKL is now one of our favorite places to stay (we haven't stayed at a DVC resort yet), and with the high number of trips we make to WDW we will be definitely staying there again.

Thanks Pinmanic for the info.

Hi cruise-o-matic,

Ya know I spend so much time over here in the DVC area that I don't think I have ever explored the other areas on the forum. Thanks for the heads up and will certainly take a look at the other area. At 1st when I read your post I thought I did do a search but then I went to main area and I see what you mean.

Any Mods want to move or delete this thread, that's fine with me.
