What Is The Age Limit For Vegas Casinos?

It's been a very long time since I've been to Las Vegas. How old does someone need to be to get into a casino? Is it 18 or 21?

DD will turn 18 soon. I thought about making a short trip to Vegas to see a couple of shows. It would be more fun if she could get into the casino with me.

Thanks!

Probably 21

I've been looking at hotels for a short trip in May and am not discovering that a lot of hotels wont rent to anyone under 25.

I'm so tired of all the age restrictions.

You must be 21 to gamble in the casinos. You can go together & enjoy the shows but sorry they will not let her gamble. They carded my neices everytime they went near the machines and they are of age. That being said my kids who are under 21 had a great time too. There is alot for the two of you do. Enjoy if you go.

Re: 25 year old age limit for hotel rooms?

I wonder where you're looking because almost every hotel on the strip will rent you a room at 21, I've stayed in lots of them from the second I turned 21, and have never had a problem. Luxor, Paris, Excalibur, Imperial Palace, Venetian, Monte Carlo, Ceasars--all 21

And for the first question: 21 is the limit for casinos, but obviously no age limit for all the shows etc, and you often have to walk through the casino to get to the show. BUT they are really careful about those under 21 lingering in the casino, and will not hesitate to card someone if they seem to be under 21.

Thanks for the replys! I had a feeling that it was 21.

Well I was looking at some hotels in Myrtle Beach and was shocked that many do not rent to people under 25. I refuse to support chains that practice age limits, since I don't agree with it. I had this happen when looking for a hotel to stay in near Ohare airport in Chicago as well.

Yes they wont even let them near a machine. I was at the Sahara once and this family walking through decided to have a seat at some slot machines probably to take a break. They had a young teenager and a younger child.
They didnt actually play the machine but were pushing on the buttons.
Security quickly showed up and told them they(the kids) could not sit there, it was against the law to have anyone underage in the gaming area and that the casino could be held accountable.

Well I know someone in the hotel industry and reason for this is the "party party its not my place" type attitude of people under the age of 25.
Now I'm not saying all are like that. I know I wasnt. There has just been a trend of people that age renting out rooms for sole purposes of partying.

It doesn't surprise me that Myrtle Beach would refuse to rent rooms to under-25 yo. Big Spring Break town - lots of stupid, immature college kids getting drunk and trashing the place. I used to live near Virginia Beach and every spring the paper would have stories about the dread of Spring Break Season.

I also lived in Vegas for a few years...minors can walk through the casino, but no loitering near the machines, not even to watch and adult playing. Just keep to the aisles and keep moving. There is quite a bit to do for non-gamblers, though. Seeing the hotels is entertainment in itself. But it's very expensive nowadays - just as bad as Disney really. $10 for a single roller-coaster ride $65-$100 for show tickets (at not necessarily good seats at good shows!)

Have to be 21 now to be on the casino floor.

I live just a Hop, Skip and a Jump from Atlantic City (spend waaayyyy too much time at the slot machines) and I know its 21 there. Im not sure about Vegas.

From what I understand some shows require you to be 18 to see them too.
Don't ask me which ones because I would rather pay 200 bucks to sit out on the sidewalk and count cars going by then see a show.
I am going to Vegas for SuperBowl this weekend though. :cool1:
There is tons to do in Vegas for those that aren't old enough to gamble or drink though.

I know. Grr the bad apple youngs adults always ruin it for the whole bunch. Makes me so :furious: I just hope they FAIL in life! That's how much I hate immaturity.

the legal age is 21 to be in a casino & gamble in las vegas. as for the shows & clubs most are also 21 & ask for id. i would leave your teen at home or take this trip later.

21 to gamble in Las Vegas, 21 to rent a room.

Certain areas do not rent to people under 21 or 25 during certain times of the year, namely spring break.

I have taken my teens to see shows in Vegas. We saw Mamma Mia & Blue Man Group. There are lots of fun places to shop & eat. The hotels are a "amusement" all to themselves. Great spas too. There would be plenty for the two of you to do, your dd just would not be able to gamble or hang out with you while you gambled.

I had my dh with me, so we took turns a couple of times so that we each got a little gambling in (not a lot - I stick to the nickle machines mostly). We did go over to the Palms one afternoon - they have a nice movie theatre there & my dd's went to see a movie while dh & I played a bit. Of course, I have 2 dd's - so your daughter might not want to do that by herself.

for shows it depends on the show and the venue. some don't allow anyone under 21 because they don't want to have to i.d. for drinks inside (just once at the door). some allow under 21 at earlier shows but not at later.
