I'm sure this question has been asked, but with search not working, I can't find it. I haven't been on the dvc board for awhile, but we are definately planning on buying points in the next month or two. We don't know if we should buy resale or buy BCV. We want bc or bw, none others. I'm not sure if MB is offered at BCV, but I also am not sure if I want to sell back my points, and not use them for a whole year. I have read a few references about a $5 rebate that isn't MB, can anyone enlighten me? We are trying to weigh if it would be better to buy resale at BWV or new at BCV. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

If you buy BCV you can get $5 off per point or a free stay at one of Disney's deluxe or moderate hotels. # of nights depend upon how many points you buy and they must be used by 7/1/03. If you choose the $5 off per point, you don't have to sell back any points. No one really knows how long these incentives will last, although some say they may last until June when the price for BCV is supposed to go up to $80 per point. BWV are only available as a resale.

Thanks donmil723. Now, my next question, what is BCV selling per point now? I know I can buy BWV on resale for between $62 and $68 per point, but, most of them don't have all the points available for use. The were borrowed against, and that's what I'm trying to avoid. We have cash to buy, and I want to reap the benefits of my purchase right away. We are looking to buy 150 points.

Current BCV price is $75 per point, before the $5 discount.

A few things to add. Don't forget when buying resale to add in the price of closing cost to your per point price. Also if you purchase now at Beach Club Villas, you will get a Feb 2002 use year, you can't use the points until August 1st, 2002, But you will get points on Feb 2002 and new points again on Feb 2003. Price is $70 ppt, with the $5.00 Discount.

Are you saying there are no closing costs if I buy through Disney? This is sounding better all the time. Waiting till August doesn't sound like too long. I am definately leaning toward BCV.

tc... The closing costs are paid by DVC. So the only amount you pay is the $70 ppt. Plus your annual dues which you would pay with or with out a resale. Those are based on the indivdual resort, at BCV they are currently $3.77 per point.
