2025 Moonlight magic

I thought I had read somewhere that at 11 you would be assign a random spot, those entering after 11 would be in numerical order.

Yes but I think the assumption was that everyone who was in before 11 am would automatically get higher numbers than those who entered after.

But, as I said, it was mentioned that was not necessarily true and that the random numbers assigned might have gaps between them and how those entering after would fill in those gaps in order

Again, we know that CMs don’t always have the accurate info but by reports we are getting, it certainly does seem possible.

What is interesting with this new system is that it seems like when your time says "More than an hour" - it almost acts like you are in an unorganized group of people waiting to join the queue and then you're randomly assigned a spot once it gives you a time remaining. This might explain how someone joining the queue at 11:08am is assigned a spot while someone who was in the waiting room before 11am is still waiting.
If "more than an hour" is an unorganized/unassigned group, that would help explain why one that started 4X minutes remaining, then went up to 1+ hours, ended up behind a device that was more than an hour from the start.

Or, as you noted, maybe the system was just behaving erratically due to the volume.
Either that or the system is behaving erratically because it can't handle the volume of people all joining at exactly 11am and it gets "stuck" and someone coming in a little bit later is processed immediately rather than being stuck.

The reservation for the Hollywood Studio event Sunday says that you can check in as early as 7pm. Does that mean you can get into the park at 7pm even though the event doesn't start until 9:30 pm?

Correct, entry is at 7pm, but Moonlight Magic specific activities (ice cream) won't be available until MM starts at 9:30pm

The email I got from DVC says that mix-in starts at 6pm and check in starts at 7pm.

ETA: photo from the email. The check in at the gate starts at 7pm. Starting at 6pm you can go to the in-park check in near Star Wars Launch Bay.

Ah, so 6pm is when those that are already in the park can get their MM stuff (wrist band and certificates).

Right, but the email also says "6pm mix-in time," so I think 6pm is also the earliest you can get in without a separate park ticket.

I think the stated mix-in time of 6pm is a typo. They don't allow those registered for MM to enter from the main gate until 7 pm (or shortly before). To enter prior to 7 pm would require valid park admission.

From another thread it seems 6pm is when you can checkin for MM inside of the park (meaning you have a separate admission)

Not sure if this was discussed earlier in the thread -

I saw that for the summer MM events, all the registrations are on the same day (May 15 early registration and May 22 late registration).

So if someone was hoping to go to multiple of these events, can you do it in the same queue (assuming you're eligible to register to all), or is it one queue per event?

You’re only allowed one event per season per the new rules.

That's an unfortunate change! 😥
A year or two ago, I happened to have DVC stays that corresponded to two events.

After I made it through the wait queue, I was presented an option to select one of the two events. I could not select both.
