What is that at Epcot? Is that a new ride or what going up at Epcot? When will it be open? Can some one please tell me.

Soaring over California is the new ride at Epcot. It's scheduled to open in May. It's supposed to simulate hang gliding over California. It's based on a ride at California Adventures. I've never ridden it but it gets good reviews.

Do you mean Soarin in the land pavillion? It is a ride that they currently have in wdl and they are doing a version of it in Epcot(kind of a Imax experience)

OH my Gosh! OH my Gosh! DH and I got to ride it in Sept on our first ever trip to DL. It is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! It was absolutely our favorite attraction.

Could you describe it in more detail? Does it bounce you around, or make you feel like you're going to fall? Are your feet hanging loose? (I wear sandals, and I rode a ride at Universal that was designated for kids, but an adult could go along with a kid. We were suspended high above the ground - for real - and I kept fearing that my sandals would fall off. Also, it went really fast, hanging from an overhead track that curved and swerved. I don't usually go on "thrill rides", and I can assure you I'll never ride that one again!)

The one at Disney's California Adventure is an indoor simulator like Star Tours. It lifts you about 10 feet or so off the ground, and it tilts back and forth, but isn't a wild ride. Even if you lost your sandals, you could retrieve them afterwards, since the ride is in a theater-type setting.

Thanks for the explanation. On another thread someone suggested taking flip flops off and putting them in the basket under your seat.
