What is SSR really selling for now?

I understand there is a $5 discount at SSR (during construction?). So, the real price for SSR has trended as follows (assume no MB). $79 to start increase to $84 last fall to $90 now? Sounds like those who got SSR Dec UY for $79 did pretty well (xtra year points with no(?) 2003 dues) vs DVCI selling for $75 now with closing costs (estimate). Do I have this right?

In the process of purchasing right now. The cost per point is now $95. Maintenance is $3.8 per point.

As SSR opens, sales prices and special offers are changing, sometimes every month. Call sales and ask them. They'll tell you the truth, including special offers currently available (if any). Unlike some other timeshare sales people, they are not rewarded for selling something to you at a higher price than somebody else who bargains harder the same day. They'll just quote you the price and offers and, in most cases, not apply high pressure at all.

SSR started selling last August at $89 but you got $10 back (making it $79).

As of last Friday (5/21/04)... the list price is $95 but they are offering two discount options:

a) $5 off (net $90)
b) $10 if you trade-in your 2004 credits ($85)

I chose option a).

There were better discounts earlier, but I missed them.

I believe that the discounts mentioned are available only for purchases of 100 or more points.

If you want a 25 point add-on, expect to pay the full $95 per point (and pay cash or find your own financing).

Did you do it on site at an open house, go to the open house and then do it from home, or did you just do it from home?

We are still waiting for our guide to call us back. She doesn't seem to like to return Phone Calls and DVC will not let us deal with anyone except our original guide, Argh!

I breifly stopped into to open house when I was in Orlando last week on a biz trip. I got home... talked to Debbie about it, and we decided to buy... so I called and did it over the phone.

BTW, I am not doing any financing... I am just charging to a credit card so that I get a few free airline tickets, then paying it off in cash right away without any finance charges.

If you're sufficiently annoyed, you should be able to call the general sales number and, when they ask if you have a guide, tell them you're dissatisfied and insist on a new one.

On getting a new guide, you might explain that you turned back the old one because she wasn't returning phone calls.

It's true that the guides are very busy and live their lives on the phone, often tied to a queue of new callers with little time to call their own. With that in mind, I'm willing to wait a day or so for a call back. Longer, however, is not right.

I guess why I am asking is that my DW and I went to the openhouse and got those same offers given to us... but they were presented as a take it or leave it offer.

We got back home and realized that we really can afford the club and are trying to sign up but we can't get a hold of our lady to find out if she can still offer us those same specials that are going on today.
