Here's the thread for FL Residents meets BUT there have been people with questions about areas to move to so jump on over..be patient someone will surely answer you Good Luck with your plans and then you too can get on the Dismeets
it's in the middle of no where... Seriously if you are going to be working close I'm sure it's fine but if Tampa is going to be where you work it's a hike....with the prices so low in this area for housing I think there are a few better choices...just my opinion

actually you're making another good point if OP (or anyone that falls onto this thread) is planning to move to FL and needs to be working better have some guaranteed job waiting or in this economy ANY place here is really the middle of no where (even though I see OP said moving for work)
You are fairly close to the Gulf Coast. Nearest city would be a toss-up between Tampa and Orlando, both about 50 miles which is not too bad. And driving to ML is about 76 miles and a little more than an hour and a half.

OP this does't apply since I know you said you are moving for work, but for others here's another FL Res who absolutely agrees with this statement of being sure to have a guaranteed job first.
Our local paper seems to have a lot of stories lately of people who move down with nothing on the job front, hoping to find work and find zilch, and then can't make it down here and need help. Some really sad stories, especially when there's children involved.
I know people who have moved to Spring Hill from Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. They were able to get larger homes in Hernando. My DSIL lives there and works in Tampa. She takes the Suncoast Parkway (tolls) and said the drive doesn't bother her at all. I occasionally work in the Spring Hill, Brooksville area. I was surprised at how much has been built in recent years.
I probably shouldn't even post because I haven't been there in 10 years, but I didn't like it. Nothing there really. If your job is right in that area, I understand though. Property should be a bargain.
