So what is the deal with Concierge lvl at any resort? What is so special about it? Some snacks? It's not like Walt or Mickey tuck you in? Just wondering?

It's a luxury item, so if you like luxury, you would probably like it. A splurge, an indulgence for most.

The food is a nice plus to us - especially for breakfast in the lounge. The staff is always nice. Free beer - DH likes that. Free desserts every night - I like that.

The itinerary planning before your trip is an added perk too. And although they are changing the safari stuff around starting next year, there are/were certain tours you can do only by staying CL - either AK for some or CL anywhere for others.

I have only stayed club level at the Poly, so I can't speak to any other location. And I like that the Poly has a separate building for CL. And the views from the lounge and the lagoon view/theme park view rooms are amazing. But I'm guessing you're asking about AKV specifically since we're on the DVC boards.

Oh turndown service - I love that. Nice fresh towels in the evening, the beds all ready for sleeping, lights on low, and some candy.

Concierge level at places outside of WDW are very nice. Usually you have upgraded rooms/bedding and there is great food and a full bar with wait staff in a nice private area.

At WDW, not so much. It is nicer than regular rooms because you can get free water/snacks, but it's not at the level of service/amenities I've experienced at other resorts. The food offered is light snacks and there is no wait staff to serve you, no full bar (there is domestic beer and pretty bad wine).

Club level also provides the guests with concierge service. This will included little extras that you wouldn't have otherwise. One of the things at WDW is that if you have packages sent to your resort, they will be put in your room rather than having to pick them up yourself.

Have only used the CL at CR, so far. Have two AKV CL stays scheduled before the end of the year.
What we like about it:
Extremely friendly CMs!
Food very good.
Full breakfast.
Last stay, at the end of the nightly adult drinks; there was a bottle of wine that was 3/4 full. They gave it to us to take back to the room. They even supplied a cork. We took the bottle home at the end of the stay and after finishing it, we placed it in our bottle collection as a rememberance of a great stay.

It gives you a chance to feel special and different than other people. The same feeling that you can get when you become a DVC Member or when you go to go to the TOTW.

A feeling of exclusivity. :cloud9:

I remember when they used to do that for everyone.......

The Disney policy on delivering items to non Club Level Guest rooms was a result of labor negotiations. If the Guest isn't in the room, Bell Services won't get tipped.

We booked AKV Concierge so that we could do the Sunrise Safari (restricted to Concierge guests only) and the Wanyama Safari at a reduced price. Having continental breakfast and snacks available in the lounge was very convenient and enjoyable. You also get daily mousekeeping and nightly turndown service.

We were upgraded on to Concierge Level at YC once. It was nice to have the breakfast/ snack and a place to stretch out. The CM's were great and very helpful with ADR's and such, but because we were upgraded we didn't get a chance to use to planning services. I think if we didn't buy into DVC we would of paid to upgrade every once in a while. My DW loved it the same as she loves going to baseball games in a luxury box vs setting in regular seats... :rolleyes1
