My soon to be step son is getting married in August. My son and I are both in the wedding and I just don't know what I should get her for her shower. I can't attend...since WE will be at WDW ourselves celebrating our own wedding :) but thought you may have some good suggestions!! TIA!!! :bride: :groom:

lingerie/victoria's secret gift card seems to be the popular shower gift ....but is it for the bride or the groom I don't know ..

since their wedding is in Disney...if they aren't getting the dining plan or something...you could get them an "activity" or dinner at WDW...

their wedding isn't at Disney...but ours is.... I was thinking the Victorias secret card but wasn't sure :) thanks so much!

did they register anywhere?
i know i loved the towel sets i got for my shower.

They only registered at Kohls...mostly pots, pans and dishes type stuff...we plan on giving them a cash gift for the wedding but wanted to get something more personal and traditional for the shower... :bride:

My favorite shower gift was a scrapbook that my friends made of me and DH. It started freshman year of high school when DH and I met, and went up to our engagement. They also included pages for me to add wedding pictures to it later. It was so thoughtful!

My favorite shower gifts off of our registry was place settings of my china.

As the future "in-law" I would buy something more personal. Maybe a spa/massage gift certificate for one or both of them, the Victoria's Secret gift card (for her--but him too!! ;) ), or maybe a manicure/pedicure for before the wedding.

How exciting that you're "all" getting married. Too bad that your weddings overlap! Best wishes to all of you!

Does she have her unity candle set yet? I bought my best friend the Marquis by Waterford set for her shower last year. She loved it and it now sits on the buffet in her dining room.

This site is having a nice sale right now.

That is SO sweet! How very thoughtful!

Believe it or not my favorite gift was our kitchen garbage can :rotfl: It's red (our kitchen is white, red, and chrome) and it's big and has a liner and a step open lid. And it's something we use every day of course. I love it!

Also, my sister gave me "Just Married" flip-flops for DH and I. It was a simple thing that meant a lot. We still wear them.

VS is great, but I just think a gift card is pretty impersonal. Why not get her something from VS and a gift receipt so if it isn't right she can exchange it. A couples spa day is always a welcome treat too!

How fun that everyone is getting married - Best Wishes :goodvibes

I'd say double check her registry for something that screams I'd love to have this, but wouldn't acutally buy it myself. I got 2 things off my registry that I loved. One is a cake plate/punch bowl/veggie & dip tray all in one, and the other is a rectangular cake taker, that will hold a cake, or 20 cupcakes, or 40 deviled eggs. Both were things I reeeally wanted but would never have put out the $30 some dollars for them on my own.

I honestly don't know how I'd of felt recieving underwear from my soon to be mother-in-law, or my mother for that matter. I think that may have creeped me out a bit. But if your close to the bride then I think that would be a nice gift too.

How much did you want to spend? As you are going to be the step mom of the groom, I was thinking something memorable... a keepsake... would be nice. I love the idea of the scrapbook. Along those lines, a gift that was given to my daughter that was very different and well-received was a photographer's services for her shower. Most brides have a photographer for the wedding, but the pre-wedding activities aren't documented as well. Kate's bridesmaids hired a photographer (actually a photography student from the university here) to take photos of friends, details, gift-opening, etc. at her shower. They also gave her a scrapbook and pages so that she could have a lasting keepsake of the pre-wedding activities. If you've got a local university or arts school, I would think you could find someone reasonably priced to do this for you. ~Ev :)

wow, what awesome suggestions! Thanks so much!! Her fiance gave her a scrapbook for Valenties day ... but...she does love scrapbooking :) Hmmm Maybe some pampered chef and something more personal...? :) Uh..I knew you guys would have some great suggestions!! :bride: :groom: Thanks so much!

Those are really unique and quick. Something fun to do at the shower or at the reception. We are using ours at the reception.

My DREAM shower gift is a camcorder to take on our honeymoon with us.
