What is on National's Emerald Aisle? *2011*

Not an Emerald Aisle Report, unfortunately, but just to note, I've made a couple National Reservations for later in the year, and the only CDP number i've found to make a real difference rate wise is the Car and Driver Magazine one, 3715444. Cut my cost in half for my 4-day rental after christmas (still hoping I find a cheaper one before then, but i'll hold on to it for now)

I can't get this code to work.:confused3

I got that code to work, but even with the code, the rental is $500 for my August dates. Ouch. Hopefully that price will drop.

If you're an EA member you can try this one. Not the greatest but a little better: 5602728

Personally I'm waiting for some last minute rates. The prices are too high for me and the coupons not working for August makes it worse. I've booked a backup on Budget for a minivan for $300 for the week (total). I can live with that if I have to.

Came out slightly more expensive for me. Thanks anyways.

Any idea what organization that code belongs to?

Actually that is the code for emerald aisle members. I found it by not putting in a code once while logged into EA and it did a prefill for me. I kept checking prices without logging in and the price was high, but one day while logged into the EA account that one popped up. So it's legit.

That code came out to be higher for me also. I don't mind waiting for last minute fares either, as I've usually been able to get the best rate 1-2 weeks prior to arrival.

Not many reports lately. I don't think anyone can afford National's rates lately! They are pretty high. If they don't come down for my next trip on August 12th, I'll be using Budget (Do you hear me National??).

That was my thought as well. I have rates booked at half the price that National is giving. Ridiculous!

I thankfully booked several months ago for October. Rates went up alsmost $150! If rental cars continue to be so pricy we may end up not getting a car for future trips.

wow. I just attempted to check some of the other companies and they all seem pretty high. Odd. Luckily we booked months ago and have about the same rate I usually get. So am happy with that.

Good luck everyone, mky:cutie:

We just got back..I used emerald aisle- midsize for $214. Got there 11 pm last Saturday night - no minivans on emerald aisle... attendant told us to check executive aisle..no luck, then he told us to go to Alamo..Bingo..brand new minivan with backup camera, loaded..Upon leaving they took my $214 ressie and honored it even though it came from Alamo.

Congratulations! you were very lucky that the attendant worked with you to help you find a minivan. This is not the norm and I wanted to make sure others out there knew this. No way should anyone ever book the Emerald Aisle (or Executive Aisle) needing a minivan. This system is you book intermediate price and get whatever is available. Sometimes you/we are lucky to get a bigger vehicle, sometimes you get what you book. During my trip in May we HAD to back up out of the kiosk line because the folks in front of us TOOK a SUV from the Executive Aisle and they were Emerald Aisle members (the attendant told us when we got to the window). The attendant told them they would be charged the full price and they wanted to choose from the correct aisle. We needed a minivan or crossover once and went to side A (both aisles -- we are Executive members) and then over to side B and checked both aisles, then back to side A, where we settled on a crossover. During that search we encountered two agents who asked if they could help and we nicely asked them if they had any minivans coming out as we were picking up family later and they told us we had to choose from the aisles and that was our only alternatives. We were lucky enough to get a crossover, but a minivan would've been better. So you were very lucky!! Sounds like you got a good one!!

Maybe because we arrived after 11 pm and the six of us looked exhausted and frustrated after the flight delay. I guess we were super lucky!
