Never been to the Poly. How is 'Ohanas? What are the activities I hear about? Is it fun?

TIA

They have coconut races and hula contests for the kids. At the end, they give the kids candy -- always a big hit with my 2.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. They bring the food to you - all you can eat. The main course is shrimp, turkey, beef and (I think) pork on long skewers. Prior to the main course, they bring the most awesome chicken wings I have eaten -- which we don't usually eat but they are awesome.

Depending on what time you dine, it's possible you can get a window seat for the MK fireworks. If not, when they go off, the entire restaurant pauses so everyone can view them from the windows. A great view.

I think CGSW did a great job explaining. However, you forgot the best part..........................................

Caramel Pineapple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We did 'Ohana for the first time in December and loved it. CGCW did a great job of explaining the experience. Definately a must-do.

::yes:: We love O'Hanas, and have gone there our past 2 trips. The first time we ate there, we all turned to each other and asked "Why didn't we come here before?"

How could I have forgotten......you are SO right.

We'll be there Monday night for dinner -- I'll have an extra slice for all of you!

Just had dinner there for the first time last week, it was amazing! Everything was so good, and the restaurant decor was very nice as well. Definitely one of the best meals of the trip. We got a window seat which was lovely, but the fireworks weren't until very late that evening. Would go back again without hesitation!

We tried this restaurant for the first time in October - and we loved it!!! We've also wondered why we didn't try it before!!
My little girl loved the hula hoop contest! This is now our "first night" restaurant!!!! We'll be back in July!!

Definitely go and enjoy!!!

We really love the Polynesian Resort...everything about it, including the delicious, well-priced 'Ohana.

Don't miss this dinner, and budget some time to walk around and appreciate the resort. If you've never seen the Electrical Water Pageant, you can catch a great view of it from the Poly Marina dock every night at 9PM. The landscaping and the pools at this resort are worth the time, even if you're not staying there. Only one problem; my DH and kids have caught the Poly bug and must stay there next trip! This may happen to you, too!;)

We had dinner there March 9th....my favorite part are the appetizers!!! And the lapu lapu drink! This was our FAVORITE meal the entire trip and the most fun. Would go back RIGHT NOW, if I could! Go - you will NOT regret it! ps when we were there - there was no turkey but pork, chicken, steak and shrimp...YUM

Ohana's is a must do on any trip for me, either breakfast or dinner or both! I love that place!

We ate there when we unexpectedly found ourselves in WDW Dec 02.
DH wants to eat dinner there again when we return to WDW this Oct.

Dinner @ O'Hanas IS WONDERFUL, but so is the breakfast. Try to squeeze in a breakfast there too!! The menu is a "fixed skillet" meal with all the 2nds or 3rds you care to eat. The character interaction is fabulous. They have dances and parades for the kids. Take a big appetite, an autograph book and LOTS of film in the camera!!!

My kids loved the food there so we didn't have to ask but I have read numerous times on these forums that if you tell your server/"cousin" they will offer kids something from the Kona Cafe like a hot dog and fries, mac and cheese etc. so I don't think you'll have a problem. Enjoy. We too, went on our last trip to Ohana and wondered why we hadn't before. It was a great meal and we all loved it.

They definitely cater to the picky eaters. We try to avoid indulging our picky eater, but the CM picked up right away on the fact that he wasn't eating and immediately offered him all the usual kid meal options. He was absolutely thrilled!

Another tidbit....the CMs must be trained that a pre-teen is insulted by a kids cup for their soft drink.....our DS, just turned 10, always received an 'adult cup' without asking. Just part of that Disney magic as far as a 10 year old is concerned! ;)

Just hopping on boards the "I love 'Ohana's" train...great food, great atmosphere, reasonable price. Can't wait to go back.:D
