hi all:wave:
we will be at wdw from11th-26th october:tongue: how will it be at this time of year in regards to weather and crowds?
we have been in november and had some lovely weather and low crowds is october similar?

thanks eve::MinnieMo

Having been to Orlando last year i can thoroughly reccomend October-the weather was great-crowds not too bad so not much queing-it was so good im going again in october 2005.Dont miss the food and wine festival at epcot-its all brilliant!

We have been twice during late October early November 2000, 2002 and once during early October 2003. I much preferred late October as it coincides with both the food and Wine Festival at EPCOT, which is brill :p and MNSSHP.

The crowds are fairly light througout October although early October coincides with Fall Break in some states and late October has the English half term and traditionally there is 'Jersey Week' at the beginning of November in which all the schools in the state of Jersey shut down for a Teaching Conference. A lot of Jersey families use this week to travel down to WDW to take advantage of the low off-peak rates and the reduced crowds.

All that said I find it an excellent time to visit.

Alan.

We were there that time last year & with the exception of Columbus day & Epcot on 1st day of food & wine, all the parks were OK to do. The first couple of days were quite humid. MNSSHP was excellent even if the headless horseman was almost 20mins. late!!! If you are there on Columbus day & want a sit down meal, you must make a PS. We had a PS at CP for 1130am for lunch & if you didn't have a PS, the earliest you'd get a table was 7pm!!! Whatever you decide to do, have a great time

hi:wave:

thank you all for your replies::yes:: we are arriving on columbus day and travel back on the first day of our half term week so this shouldn't be a major problem(we hope::yes:: )we are planning on doing mnsshp and the food and wine festival
is there much rain in october?

thanks eve::MinnieMo

we only had one day of rain on our October trip:) The rest of teh time it was glorious:) I loved going at that time of year!:sunny:

From our experience there is a greater risk of rain at the beginning of October as the weather is slightly more hot and humid which leads to thunderstorms in the evenings. We had a Fantasmic show cancelled due to the weather during our first week :( which was disappointing. We did find experiencing the storm quite exiting in itself though, I've always thought thunderstorms can be quite beautiful and it gives you an excuse to buy a nice rain poncho :cool:

We went in October 2003 and the weather was great only 1 day of rain! It did get a bit chilly in the evening though!

we went in oct 1999 (16th to 6th nov) when we arrived there was a hurracaine!!!! (irene i think) and we had 3 of the coldest days florida had seen in years, waiting for fireworks at Epcot was more like bonefirenight in blighty! (sounds like we got a naff year)
this asside once hurracaine was over we had very little rain and most days were warm (a couple scorching) although you do need a sweatshirt in evenings
as DH is a sun worshiper we are trying july this year. other threads say ths isn't a good time to go we will just hvae to wait and see

We've been several times in October and we've always been lucky with the weather and crowds. Added to that, we have spent our happiest WDW days at the International Food and Wine Festival, so it's definitely our favourite time to go.

I have read of some people hitting busy patches for one reason or another, but I think it's probably difficult to anticipate every eventuality. My advice has always been to avoid Early Entry days. It will be interesting to see how the Extra Magic Hours evening test works out and whether or not it gets extended.

We went 11 - 25 October in 2000 and had glorious weather, not one spot of rain. The weather was hot enough during the day and cooled down considerably during the evenings, but this was ideal for us.

We are going again in October this year 6th - 27th and are hoping the weather will be much the same as last time!

hi all:wave:

ukdeb,
