And after reading that link, I would want it on our money even less. I am not an athiest and I am actually a very "middle of the road" person politically, but I do NOT believe God has a place on our currency or in our pledge.
Yes, I would want God to help guide our leaders to make the right decisions for our country, but that's as far as I ever want religion to take place in our political world. Doesn't seem like the two should go hand in hand the way they have here.

And it got put in because politicians were trying to make a clear distinction between Americans and "Godless Communists".
