I won't pretend that I know what Halloween is ALWAYS like at MK, but we were there this past year (2013) and it was awesome. Definitely crowded, but not ridiculously so and definitely won't shut down since the ticketed event begins at 7pm. We bought tickets in advance, but I don't know if the party was sold out buy the time it started. I would guess that it was sold out or close to it. The candy trails were very crowded ... much more so than other party nights I've attended. But, other then that it was pretty much the same as other MNSSHP nights over the years. We had great seats for the parade, rode quite a few rides (My DDs first ride on Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Pirates, Haunted Mansion etc ...)

The Halloween night MNSSHP will sell out, but the number of tickets they sell for it is much lower than park capacity, so anyone with a ticket will be able to get in.

How crowded is a sold out party? Are there waits for rides? How early do we need to find a good spot for parade/fireworks? We are attending Halloween night too.

They have a limited number of tickets; we've never had more than a 5 min 'wait' to get on anything. Get your tix early or you won't be able to get them!

Main Street will be crazy crowded. Character lines will be long. ToT lines will be long. Ride lines will be short.

They limit the number of tickets sold, but the crowd congregates in the areas offering party specific activities. Most people know they can do the rides during the day and pay the price of a party ticket to do party specific things.

But Halloween won't be any more crowded than any other sold out night. If you have realistic expectations for what you can get done, you can have a great time. :thumbsup2

I've been to several sold out parties and never waited for rides or got shut out of decent seats for the parade/fireworks. The character meet-and-greet lines are always the longest waits at the parties and I found them to be particularly so at sold-out parties.

We went on a sold out night last year and since that was our first time attending, I'm not really sure what the difference would feel like in a non sold out party.

Anyways, we went to both the early and late parade. Both times we were near The Liberty Tree Tavern. It seemed a lot less crowded and congested in this area. But if you wanted a good view, you still had to find a spot about 45 minutes before the parade, even for the second parade, we found the crowds to be just as heavy as the first.

We were there last year and in 2011. It was great! Crowded, for sure, but not overwhelming. Plenty of candy, short ride wait times, long character lines (but that's to be expected) and fun at the dance parties. Second parade is far less crowded than the first and the Hallowishes Fireworks are the best I've ever seen. If you have the opportunity, I would encourage you to go and enjoy!

Halloween Night is always a sold out party, regardless of what night it falls on. They only sell so many tickets for the parties. Once you have a ticket, you will be allowed into Magic Kingdom. A sold out party is still much quieter than an average busy day at MK.

We were there last year and we have attended 7 sold out parties. (Halloween and Christmas) Main Street and the Hub is always busy. People start lining up for the first parade (8:15pm) from the time they enter MK. It makes the party look much busier than it really is. You can enter MK from 4pm with a party ticket. Between 6pm-7pm is a good time to avoid Main Street if you can. People are arriving for the party and day guests are leaving. It's a "traffic" nightmare. After the fireworks, Main Street becomes much quieter as people start to move through the park.

Waits for rides are minimal to none. Almost everything is 5 minutes and less. Most people who attend the parties are there for party specific

It depends on what you mean by "good spot". People start lining up for the first parade (8:15pm) from the time they enter Magic Kingdom. We watched the second parade from Frontierland or Liberty Square. We have always managed to get a front row spot 15 minutes before the parade starts. We the fireworks, we watch them from Fantasyland and just walk up a few minutes before they start. This isn't optimum viewing as they are designed to be watched from the front of the castle. However we aren't paying to just stand or sit in one spot for an hour or more just to watch the parade or fireworks.

I was there last year on Halloween and I didn't think the sold-out party crowd was bad at all. All rides, even Haunted Mansion were walk-on. I got pictures with the ghosts outside HM with almost no wait as well. Some characters might have had long waits. The candy trails always start off crowded, but if you wait until the end of the night you can load up. I got a great spot for fireworks, right at the back of the hiub. There was almoist no one around me! I highly recommend going as it was a great time!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!

I thought everyone in Orlando would be trying to get in to the place!

LOL

Did this last year and I finally got to check a big thing off my bucket list... rode Haunted Mansion at midnight on Halloween. Awesome time!
