Since this acronym always seems to be paired with either the phrase "Monorail Drink-A-Thon" or a smiley chugging a beer (or both), I'm guessing it's something to do with drinking. (My Logic professor would be so proud of me!) All I can come up with, though, is "Lushes of the World." :teeth:

Yes, Londonpenguin...you got it right! Come join us on the thread..."Monorail drink-a-thon" I wish I could post a link, but alas, my brain had been marinating for far too long! If anyone else will do the honors, I would appreciate it!

hey Mister Disney...you should join us, also! It would be like a 'celebrity guest appearance!' LOL!

I'm definitely a charter member of the LOTW!!!

Favorite place to drink - Muddy Murphy's in Singapore

Favorite drink - Tropical Itch at the Hilton Hawaiian Village

:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Well, we are talking more about the "world" as in DISNEY WORLD!"

But you are certainly more than qualified to join!

Hey, my DH wants us to move to Calgary...whaddya think? Good placce to live?

Let me get myself "primed" and I'll be right over after I finish up my Maya Grill review!

LOL, I thought that was what was meant, but I'm happy to be a lush of any and all worlds! Since I haven't been to WDW since '73 (at age 13) my favorites from the "other" world will have to do for now. I'm sure I'll find some new favorites next month. I've already got my heart set on a Lapu-Lapu!!!

As for Calgary, I'd say yes, it is a good place to live. I'm a U.S. citizen working here for probably the next year or so. The one thing I would suggest if considering to move here is to do your homework on salary requirements. The tax rates here are crazy high, and Alberta is actually the lowest of the provinces.

Another thing that we have been less than happy with are the schools. I don't want to make a blanket statement about the Calgary public schools, but in our particular area the elementary school is subpar compared to the schools my kids have gone to in the States.

Other than that we are quite satisfied with the quality of life here. The city is nice, has a good public transportation system and all the conveniences of any place in the U.S., plus the people are very friendly and helpful.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

See you there, Mr. D!!! :wave2:

jgreen-Well, if you'd like to, you can join our little thread and get some great suggestions for different drinks and concoctions! Be sure to post with us after your trip and share your experiences!

As for Calgary...thanks for sharing the good and the bad. It is not something we are seriously considering at the moment...but we do fantasize about getting FAR away from south FL. I am a 3rd generation native Miamian and would never recommend living down here to anyone! LOL! The only problem I can foresee with Calgary is being TOO FAR AWAY from WDW!

Seriously?! Wow. When I thought "Lushes of the World," I also thought, "No, that can't be right!" :rotfl:

LUSHES OF THE WORLD!

Yup...it is soooooo right!

Now if only that was a question on "who wants to be a millionaire?" :rotfl:

Sorry, no prizes here, but a warm welcome onto the thread if you would like to join!

Okay, since dh and I make our own wine and beer (sitting here with my self titled ab fab cab) I kind of thought that the glasses were something cool  I've never gotten to go to WDW without dd so can't really participate, but maybe one of these days mister disney will start his own private tour :maleficen

Lord knows...with glowing reviews like this...there is a part of me that wants to plan a trip in the Fall of 2006 (to give everyone time to save)....and do a DIS trip to WDW with Mr D as the tour guide!

I am sure NOT worthy of the glowing accolades

And youre not just talking to any lushes...but lushes who are educated on the ways of drinking in WDW.

WLL- Hey! It's been a while hope things are going well! :flower:

Hello PD! How are ya? I am great...just plotting and planning my week long Oct trip. That will be the LONGEST I have ever been to WDW. I am very excited to do MNSSHP, a Fantasmic Dinner Package, a Party For The Senses, The Pirate Crusie for DD, and also Grand Adventures In Cooking at the GF for DD. DH will golf one day, we will go to Blue Zoo one night...*sigh* what am I leaving out? Oh yeah...Monorail drink-a-thon! We may or may not be able to fit it in!

Mister Disney-If you do the tour thingy in the fall or winter (slow times) I will sign up!

If you are LOTW then I am sure you would like Calgary. Many people miss the true point of the Calgary Stampede - PARTY! I don't know of too many events like this one. It is possible to party from sun up to sun up! Businesses will host stampede breakfasts (with special juice of course), lunches, dinners, parties, etc. where everyone from hourly staff, ceo's and customers get into the stampede 'spirit'.

Wow, I may just have to check that out! When does the stampede take place? My only concern with Calgary...do you think it is getting over built already? we have heard thatt here is a lot of suburban sprawl. That is what we are trying to escape here in South FL.

Stampede is usually from the first Friday in July to the Sunday of the following week. It is a city of apx. 1mil. and is very spread out. In less than 1 hr. you are in the mountains and one of the great dining experiences that I have had - Sunday Brunch at the Banff Springs Hotel with a window seat looking out on the mountains.

Sounds great, gary. I really do plan on making it up there one day to check it out. If i want to go at stampede time, i should probably start making my ressies now!

OK I want to become an honered member of LOTW but where do I find a drink at in each country? Is it possible for someone to post a list of these places? Do I have to go into a restaurant and sit down for most of them or can I just get a drink at a cart within the country?

Hi Titan! {lease visit us on the "monorail drink-a-thon" thread on the Them parks board! Just do a search and you will find it (I do not know how to provide a link...sorry.) I know of most of the places at the WS to drink...but we have some experts on that thread!

PS-are you gonna propose at WDW????? :lovestruc Tell me your plans!
