Went to the MK after a rather crazy afternoon, to see one of my favorite WDW parades, Spectromagic. I was so excited and even though we arrived very close to parade time and didn't get a "prime" spot, I knew from past experiences that the floats are up high enough that you don't have to be right at the curb to see everything. We selected a spot right in front of Casey's Corner which was good because we were close enough to run in and grab some drinks.
DD and DF walked over the the Confectionary to stock up on junk snacks while DH and I kind of hung out and took in all the excitement. Well lo and behold, the magic wasn't working on everyone in that crowd. Directly in front of us, was a rather large family, the littlest kids were sitting on the curb. A group of 3 20-somethingish girls was standing behind them. One of the girls accidentaly stepped on one of the little boy's hand. Well, don't you know the mother of the boy hauled off and slapped her on the arm - HARD! I heard that slap and it was a doozy. The girl screamed "I said I was sorry!" Needless to say, that was very UnDisney, and I was quite shocked by the whole episode.
OK, so after that little incident was over, the parade started and it was just as wonderful as ever! I love the music and the CM's are so energetic and it's just plain magical. I wish I were there watching it right now.
But one little thing wasn't quite right. The "slapper" and her voluminous family were pretty much blocking my view, but don't think I'm crazy when I tell you that Prince Charming WAS in attendance at that parade - because he lifted me off my feet so I was head and shoulders above the crowd without blocking the view of anyone else!
Just who was this Prince Charming? It was the baseball player statue that stands right near the door at Casey's Corner, the one that's looking sideways. I got right up on the base of him and held on. Some might call this bad behavior, but after witnessing an actual physical assault on Main Street USA, I thought I was pretty well-mannered.
Another fine evening at MK - I'm already getting the itch to go back, aren't you???

I told my DH that we could just sit behind them, not blocking anyones view. Well the lady besides the kids turned to me and said "they can sit there but where my towel starts is where our spot begins "
Now I would never take someones
So in the meantime. as we all know how children can be my 5yo may have touched her area and she kept making these faces at my child. Come on get a grip woman is what I wanted to blurt out. This is Disney World can't we all just be somewhat pleasant. However the parade went on and my littlest one caught the eye of Mary Poppins and she knelt besides her and gave her the sweetest hug. Now thats magical. And as for the retched woman besideds her, well she nor her towel was ever noticed
