What Is It About Fridays?

Two Fridays ago I survived the "gauntlet of 7 dozen donuts" at the office. Last Friday, there were 6 dozen donuts in the hall on the way to the elevators. I can't wait to see what temptations await tomorrow morning! I have the resolve to resist - and we're leaving on vacation on Saturday - gotta look good on the beach!

It's so hard to resist food when it's brought into the office. We celebrated a girl's birthday at work today and I managed to only have a bite sized piece of brownie. The one good thing about journalling and keeping track of points really makes me aware of what I am putting in my mouth.

Good for you for resisting! It feels good afterwards doesn't it? I keep telling myself....nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. (or will feel again, in my case)

Maybe you should arm yourself with your own snacks! Keep something in your desk for such times!

In my office on Fridays, you would think its a bakery!!! We have customers that are restaurants (next door to us) as well as a couple of cookie makers, and they always think it is a great idea to share with us. Add to that, the usual Friday staff meeting where they bring donuts and/or a pallet of danish. I have made it a habit to just avoid the food collection areas at all cost!! The funny thing is, 90% of the office is always saying they are on a diet...I wonder why?!!!!

I used to work for a cardio device company and it was an unwritten rule if you were late on any given day you had to bring donuts (Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts)! There were ALWAYS donuts in the office. There were a total of 20 employees and there was always a birthday being celebrated! And would you believe there were four different blends of coffee EVERYDAY!

This place was not a shining example of the AHA guidlines!!

Sun mornings DH has the guys here to play Dungeons & Dragons. There is one who insists on always bringing donuts, danish, bagels. The leftovers had been staying here. Now on Mondays DH takes it all to work - thank goodness.

And I agree - arm yourself with snacks at work

I’ve got it really bad since we get our lunch free here and every day there is an amazing dessert. And every day I have to pass it up. Grrrr. Today was heath bar cheesecake. I’ve been off sugar for about three years (with a very rare cheat) but it's still not easy!

How did it go today, PolyPal? Did you take a "legal" alternative food to try to counteract those poisonous donuts?
